You're not kidding about that... I have to take off my shirt after work everyday and use it to hold the shift knob for the first few miles!

My hand has the Mitsubishi symbol branded into it from that thing. I got tired off the look and went to the Razo 340gram shift knob...its aluminum...and its black (not smart). Yeah, its nearly untouchable. I now just slap the shifter into gear rather than hold onto it.

Oh, and TheGame, do you still have that stock manifold? I'd really like to get if from you as soon as possible. PM me so we can work something out. Thanks !

I wonder if any of you guys can offer me a suggestion? I was installing a defi white racer gauge in my X and basically had to make it up as I went. Four wires - black for ground, white for illumination, orange for 12v ignition, and red for constant 12v. I found great places for 12v sources and the gauge works great. The problem is this... When I connected the white wire to a light source (verified 12v soure when lamp is ON) the gauge becomes dim once the light are turned on. Kind of the reverse of what I expected. It's an electronic gauge and it lights up when the ignition is turned on, so I don't really understand the point of the illumination wire... I just left it off and the gauge stays lit all the time while the car is on. No big deal, the factory cluster does the same. DC is not really my thing, I just want to understand what's going on...

^ Wow, that's serious... Especially at an older age. I dread any kind of surgery after the one experience with wisdom teeth. I **** you not, I have that weird disorder where most anesthetics still keep me concious. The lady said she gave me enough anesthetic to remove both of my kidney's and spleen at the same time! I was ****ed up real bad, but I still remember a lot of it.

Yeah I have another knob I could use but on the RS it seems the knob is acctually part of the shifter so you have to change the whole thing out.

edit: No its not, I used a jar open and got the knob off.

The last major surgery I had was wisdom teeth. All four out and I was eating a cheeseburger at Steak N' Shake the next afternoon. I still haven't found anyone that recovered as quickly as I did ...that was when I was 20.
