Going, going, gone! And no rain. I don't think there were more than a dozen people so I got enough track time to cord my Dunlops. I think I just tried pushing it too hard through 13, the left front had nothing left on the outside. Also in 13 a Miata spun right in front of me, it was a little closer of a call than I like!

Maybe the guy was holding back but I can't say much for the 6.0 GTO. I lapped him in one session and even on the straights he was no faster. There was a father/son team with a very fast, trailered, race-prepped 911 who went on and on about... how much they liked the Evo!

I'm sure I was a good bit faster this time than last, but 13 is still a problem. I could get up to 115 before the kink but always chickened out and couldn't take it much faster than 100.

BeaveRun has an open day coming up in July and NASA has a HPDE-only Friday at Mid-Ohio in August so maybe one of these days we'll get some folks together!

My friends dad races there from time to time. He's approaching 60 now so he doesn't do it as often as he used to. He teaches at that track sometimes and a couple years ago he had two students who were #1 and #2 at the track that season. He hadn't raced all season and decided to race on the final weekend. Both of them were jokingly trying to get him to let them win and to block the other. He goes if you can beat me, you beat me... good luck

He won every race that weekend and finished in 3rd in the standings
