Anyone know what the minimum tread depth is to pass the Pennsylvania inspection?

According to my measurements the tires have 5/32" and the dealership said they can't pass me unless I buy new tires for the front. I think they are just trying to sell some tires. I only went there because I'm supposed to get free inspections on the car. I guess I'll have to go somewhere else. By the way this is for my daily driver (kia spectra5), not the EVO. The car (and tires) only has 8,600 miles on it. I've never heard of a car that new failing an inspection.

I know it sucks because you have free inspection but the dealer is just trying to sell you some tires. I took my car to the dealership the first time and they tried to tell me I would fail for all kinds of things. What dealership are you trying to take it to?

Yeah, thats crap. I was all happy I was going to save a few bucks on the inspection and then they try to pull this **** on me. The dealership was Heritage Ford/Kia in Orwigsburg.
