well...i went to the jacob javits Auto Show(i go every year) with a little bit of a different intent this year. i was planning to buy an evo IX this july so i wanted to show my girl the car. well, guess who was missing from the show....the evo IX.... but to my surprise guess what car they had instead....the EVO X. and here is the 3 things i learned:

Its VERY beefy up close....

and it does look WAY better in person...i was one of the ones who didnt like the way it looked on the internet... but the car looks great from 3 feet away(they had it on a tilted stage blocked off by ropes)

and, according to the Mitsu Rep... its coming out spring next year...


I'm loving this car...and as hard as it might be...im NOT going for the IX and im going to wait on the X....


the rest of the car show was blah.... but the evo X was Deff. the best part of it

 

Can't wait to see it when I go tomorrow

 

Its on the bottom floor.... Mitsu has a VERY small display... and the EVO X is all the way in the corner

 

I wish I had the time to go see it up in person too.

Also went to the NY Auto Show today. Total crapola (the show that is - save your money). But I agree, the EVO X looks better in person. I know it was still considered "concept" but I wish my IX had an interior like that. Way cool!

Is it just me, or do the inner LED's in the headlights look crooked? That is one sweet car though.

 

the back looks like hell but the rest of the car is hot....i wouldn't mind seein that car in black or yellow instead of red all the time

 

Hate the tails but everything eles looks hot.. Only thing i worry about if the drivetrain and engine.. If the put a DSG tranny in it the car wont be very nice to mod the heck out of.. Most likely it will be similar to the new DSG used in VW's which holds only holds 250lbs of tq. Hopefully they use a nice manual 6spd tranny

 

I don't like the grill or the hood, the lights, wing, and rest of the car look cool. i don't know why they are messing with success and not using the 4g63 motor, and no 5 or 6 speed, paddle shifters are cool but a automated six speed just doesn't do it for me. I like being able to shift so Im just gonna stick with my VIII.
