Ayer MA
hey guys,
just wondering when some evo's might be heading out into the Ayer MA area for some autocross on fort devens or even making a visit to KTR. I havnt looked into when any autocrossing starts cause well, i cant do any of that for the next couple of years lol But i live in the area and getting to meet new people is a challenge for me right now cause i do not have a liscence and wont have one for this whole year, so if anyone is going to be in this area anytime soon im sure i can be around to get to know some new people

I'll be at the BMW autox in my white evo trying to remember how to drive it..I have only put 3 miles on it since the winter hit in Jan, and I changed a ton of stuff..
Weather forecast is looking awesome so far! Bring on shorts and a t-shirt..or at least
pants and a tshirt.

Check out Dent Sport Garage, they just got a dyno (awd) and have a really good tuner down there. Located in Norwood, probably a lot closer as well.
Things may have changed in the last year or so, so please don't take what I say to heart if that is the case.
A very good friend of mine was burnt, time after time with 2 different cars. One of which was his Evo. Someone installed a front limited slip diff and did not shim it correctly, ruined the t-case. He paid to have it removed, sent it to shep and got the bad *** transfer case option, then 150 miles later it did the same exact thing!
Whoever did the install 2nd time around used the wrong oil in the t-case.
He aslo had a stand alone ECU, car never ran right and certainly did not make power for what it had. I would say the tuner had it all in all for a month worth of time. Finally another tuner got a hold of the car and got a migraine looking at the maps. Couple hours later the car was running real good.
Another good friend of mine wanted to buy some dyno time, KTR did not want to open the door because it was to cold out, I dunno, that is just poor business practice to me.
I hope things are changing for the better because the place is just awesome and has a bunch of potential.

I assure you it is true. All to true. My friend ended up selling his Evo because of all the headache and just overall lost interest.
I forgot all about the cold start issue's, the car would never start when it was cold unless he cranked it over a metric *** ton amount of times, this also ruined his stupid expensive twin disk flywheel. Never got an apology even or any money back for that or the t-case issue.
That is good that your the new tuner, hopefully things are better there becasue I did like the place.
IIRC isn't the dyno room in a room al by itself? Why not just pull a car in, strap it down and do some runs? Or do you have to leave the door open for ventilation?
It has been well over a year since I was out there so memory might be a little off.

I'll be at Devens tomorrow - BBY Evo w/ NYS plates - as well as a buddy of mine from Lexington w/ a silver Evo. Should be a good day. I've got a ton of new stuff on the Evo, and have moved from BSP to SM. I also finally caved and went with R compounds, so yet another new piece to the puzzle.
Well...per the email from bmwcca it looks like Mike Shields isn't going to be there. Too bad as I was really looking to use him as a good benchmark, at least Grant Reeve is still going as well as Hazard.
