And Paul...I agree that you should not need a 'professional' tune just yet. But if you have some extra $$ burning a hole in your pocket, by all means! It certainly can not hurt of course.

DSG broke Dex's bcs when they installed his clutch but forgot to tell him about it and lost one of the boost lines.

DEX when we installed your JDM MAP sensor you turned off the EGR routine in periphery 2. Have you had to get inspection since then and if so did you leave it off? To turn it off it should be set to 0xEDDF. I am wondering because i guess it makes the obd scan read it as not supported. This would make it so that the evo appears to not have either an EGR or EVAP, i.e. pass without it.

All are welcome and it is for a good cause too. We could use some Evos lunch boxes there. Trophies will be given out also. I think Japenese cars is one of the trophy divisions. I'll post the hook up points if anybody is interested.

I'm definitely interested. I know Turcos can handle it as well. Just exploring my options. I want to have a definite boost control/tune plan before i buy the parts i need. My setup will actually be fairly similar to Paul S's.

Can you find out a price? Obv that wouldn't include dyno time.

yup you have the right plugs bud! Bill only had 4 sets when i picked them up (he had to ship me one more set). If you have any doubt you can look up the part # on NGK's site. It should match with what I gave you. I looked at one of them at your house tho and they are definitely IX plugs (mucchhhh longer neck than VIIIs).

I think you are over complicating the whole modding thing...

Has anyone seen/heard from Tim?

I talked to Damien, and i know of a few more kids that have bad experiences. Its just too bad, since i was one of those nut swingers.

I don't even care that they broke it - as much as that they didn't tell me, and then when i questioned Alex about why my boost response is so slow, and down 4 psi - he played dumb, and said Nick might have lost one of the hoses, when he knew full well exactly what happened. It was a total miscalculation on his part, and I'm pretty offended. In that same conversation he offered to fix it, and take some of the fluids off my last bill when i came in next time for brakes, - and they would fix it then.

except... that I'm definitely not taking my car to them for brakes. I've helped Dave do Evo brakes on his and another car to know how simple a job it is.

The _only_ reason i took my car to DSG, was because i trusted them. My first Twin-disk, they forgot to tighten a retaining clip, it popped and i had to get it towed back to them, no biggie they paid for the tow and fixed it, but then they scratched up my door, and forgot to tighten my negative battery terminal. I wonder what else they forgot to tighten?

So I'm a little worried - the new clutch is holding, but the shifting sucks, the clutch is not adjusted right, and its still almost at the end of adjustment. So did they forget to reset the adjustment like i asked them too? did they even put in the new throw-out bearing? Did they put 75w85 in the Transmission? Whos to know.

As soon as the clutch is broken in - a couple launches will tell me pretty quickly if something is borked. and i need to bandaid it with a longer adjustment rod.

I don't know - The guys i went to, didn't even bother hooking it up. They just gave me the sticker without touching the car. I can confirm the readyness codes in Scantech later when i check my boost tables.

"tucros wins"

a lot of the reason why im considering paying AMS, Ivey or CBRD to be honest is that i feel bad taking up your time and relying on you. maybe we can talk about it next time i see you? kluvubai

so far my mod plan is:
- Apex'i Intake
- Megan DP
- Perrin HFC
- Tanabe CB
- Hallman MBC
- AMS LICP
- AEM UEGO + JDM Map Sensor

Nothing is set in stone yet, but those are my thoughts currently.
