Wow, sorry to hear about more misfortunes for ya. I am surprised also considering this past Sunday your car seemed to be running like a champ. Guess with partial hydrolock like Turco said, anything is possible. Hope they cover it and you will back in no time

Thanks Anthony, trust me, it surprised me. I've never been so shocked and hurt about a car man, I want my car back.

Ajay, keep us updated. I am interested in hearing what they say.

On that note, Turco/others, are there any differences in the Evo 8 & 9 shortblocks? I know the head is different due to MIVEC goodness, and they use a different timing belt, but not sure of any other differences. Someone is selling an 8 shortblock (all internals, but no front case or accessories) for pretty cheap. Ajay may need something like this...

i believe the pistons have been upgraded on the 9. I know the heads have different cooling passages but other than that and the mivec i dont think so. I would search the engine/turbo thread for info.

Doc I am sure you will get your car back. It might require more work than you anticipated but that is the life of owning high performance cars. **** breaks but it is just an excuse to rebuild it better.

Wow that sucks. Just as posted your car seemed to be running fine during the cruise. Hopefully they dont screw you and say they arent going to warranty it and dont trade that bad boy in for a X!

Marshall.... i have a proposal for you...

well, let's start off with the downpipe... i do still want your downpipe and turco's gonna give me a stocker to give to you (do you need a stocker).

But also, I was thinking about that O2 housing. Where I could probably get the nuts/bolts out of yours, with 63xxx miles, it's pretty much a given that mine will be seized on there for good. SO, a really smart friend of mine suggested that we simply swap O2 housings and hotsides... the would only require seperating the turbo at the v-band clamp. I think it is a wonderful idea. I hope you feel the same way. Call me after work.

I love you,

Dave

Davids, someone offered me close to what I want privately. If that works out, I may be selling it with ALL mods that are on it. If that does not work out, and I do end up trading it in, then that is certainly a good option. I do have a stock downpipe though, so either way I do not need that. If I do trade it in, I think I would replace the manifold as well, so Turco I would need that from you. Do you have a heat shield just in case? If not, I am sure I could find one easy enough.
