*sigh* i know, i know... i'm scoping out some center-mount options now...not looking forward to moving all of my wiring but I guess it gives Turco a chance to come clean up my engine bay

Yeah, I guess that's the special touch, isn't it? If the damn screw caps fit then you'd never know it was there

I dunno if i like the center mount tho, or the $100 price tag for the gruppe-s... we'll see...

Some people have put them there anyway. Theres a big ongoing argument of whether or not it matters that the airbags are there. I think we will only know if it matters when a Ricer X crashes

They pop up used a lot. Even marshall's autometer single din pod was a good option but it isn't as ballar as the ABS molded one gruppes makes - sorry marshall.

I even like the rexspeed pod on top of the dash.

I would highly recommended not making your side airbags into shrapnel bombs.

I scoped out the rexpeed pod and really liked it... we'll see. I don't mind the 1-din panel either, so long as the guages are angled.

the greatest part about the center mount is there is a football field of room back there.

I know there will be some fool to take the bags out. Which will cause the SRS light to come on, and be recorded by the ECU. And until you can reset that personally, the dealer will be able to tell. If SRS light stays on, no state inspection will be granted. Not only that, if someone adds gauges to the A pillar, and something (god forbid) should happen, projectiles FTL!!! I would not want to have to worry about gauges being rocketed at me at a time when side curtains need to be deployed. I would not mount gauges there, no if, ands or butts!!

Oh, and if any of you care, documented, we had a series of select 1999 Volvo S80's (about 12 we witnessed here alone) that had the curtains deploy with no incident. Faulty SIPS (Side Impact Protection System) Sensors would accidently trigger the side curtain air bag while under normal driving condition. And from the customer, it is a scary experience when not expecting such and incident. Good thing none of our Volvo S80 customers were A pillar ricer enthusiasts

Davids- I has the autometer 52mm single din with factory radio relocation. And the gauges are angled towards the driver. Not sure, but it is probably the same one Marshall has. Liek Turco said, not baller status, but neither are our cars. but it works and it is very inexpensive.

my last hangup for the center section is that there are already holes in my stock a-pillar... AND i'd have to rewire all of the gauges.

I think i'll just search for a full a-pillar replacement.

I like the way it looks.

i would get paul S's pod since it is a full replacement and there is no rewiring to be done. or ask paul for his stock a pillar and replace yours.

possibly, we could just use my greddy pod for now and leave the boost guage unhooked up till both pods come in. or we could just run the wires and not plug them into the gauge till the pods come in.
