Well, in my case, there was no play in either wheel up until last week. I have been experiencing the noise for about a year, but could not find it. The tie rod finally failed to the point where I could blame it on that by now seeing play. It was such an annoying thing not being able to pin point the noise. And only hearing it driving didn't help the situation.

Paul R- next time we are out, take me for a quick ride (twss) and duplicate the noise. I will then tell you if its the same sound I have. I was so certain it was my blown struts. I was wrong. And for my tie rod ends to not show any play threw me off in diagnosing the problem.

Evo is going in the shop tomorrow. Thank God. She will be fixed and happy again soon.
Question to Dave/Turco & anyone else who has done springs...I was going to do mine with my roomate but he is being kicked out of my house (owes me uber amounts of rent, sick of supporting him) so I was wondering if any of you guys would be up for a spring install with me?
My goal here is to get everything running/working perfectly on the car before the end of April. I have a vacation mid month, and at that time the car will be having the shifter fixed (since I'm pretty positive its the damn linkage), after that I will be able to go see Turco to safely finish my tune and get into summer mode again.

to check the cv's look for cracks on the boots and just grab the axle in the middle and pull in every direction you can think of.

cv joint is part of the axle. the end of the tie rod is a small ball joint. to check these you should be jacking up from the lower control arm so the suspension is still compressed.

this is what i was told to get, not sure about the mA:
4.7 volt 1-watt Zener Diode
Note: This will be installed between the 1K ohm resistor and the ECU pin and
limits the input voltage to only 4.4-5.0 volts (for +/- 5% tolerance versions).

You should not bring it to said dealer and figure it out on your own. You need more hands on time with your car. Having everyone else fix/diagnose/repair all your problems and needs will not help you in the long run. It will only amplify your need for complaining online to us everytime you witness an issue. Roll you sleeves up for once and get dirty.
