Wooooah Tim, take it easy sir, wrong choise of words. I appologize. I was pretty vauge in that post. So let me explain...
I would be pissed because my gas pedal broke, especially if I was in the middle of no where, it would seriously suck because that's something I would never expect to happen on any car, and defect was just the wrong choise of word, though if you notice none of it was directed at Mitsubishi. I would feel the same if it happened in a geo metro or a ferrari. Would make no difference.
And trust me, I know I was lucky when my Mitsu covered my engine. But it was not the mods or driver error that put a huge hole bigger than my car in the middle of a public road and was unmarked by any construction zone signs and not visiable from inside the car. I was not driving remotely fast that night, infact I was going extremly slow. I would generalize what happened that night as a freak accident that could have happened to any one of us no matter the level of modifcation or lack of to the vehicle. No argument intended. Just stating the facts of the situation that is old and burried.

the woman who was in front of me is still among the missing, so i think it looks good. i think he's coming for a home visit on sunday, so we'll see how that goes. there are a few younger dogs that i am going to check out, but i really liked Odin, so we'll see what happens.
Haha...thanks for the input! Right now, I am leaning towards the talon, as I know all maintenance has been done to it, and should be less of a potential headache. And I do think that just a 2g high rise wing would make all the difference. But we shall see.
Edit: Paint FTMFL!! But you get the idea. I think that would be hawt!!

How so? Given the amount of occurances, I would say its not a defect. Just a handful of bad units that were produced by the company who made the throttle pedal assembly for Mitsu. Give or take about 5 occurances...it's not a crucial or even a significant amount to consider a redesign or even addressing it as a manufacturer.
Mitsubishi "warrantied" your engine, correct? What was the defect there? What was the true diagnosis? Regardless the nature of the "cause" for failure, it was taken care of by the manufacturer (imo, you are lucky). Last I checked, mods + driver mishap + engine failure =
not warranty. I seem to remember you were more worried about the cost of the repair than you were pissed about it. Then they miraculously got it covered. To keep this short, a gas pedal accidentally breaking is a fluke thing. Don't be so quick to question or label something a "defect" when you abused the system for your "defect."

Just wanted to stir the pot some more.

Good luck either way
Tim, I see what you are saying on all the points you noted above, Its seems like a very small problem but,

I can personaly thank the rep for accepting Agay's warranty claim. His claim was the reason my caliper claim was denied.
I guess "timing" was to blame. As my legit claim for defective calipers was bounced to a $7k+ engine replacement in a car that experienced a non manufacturer technicality.
Props to Agay for getting covered. But my denial for a legit claim significantly affects my trade in value. And his vehicle value has not diminished even 1% due to this claim.
Agay, separate your personal feelings from this matter. I would still be stating the facts regardless of who was involved.
Stay classy San Diego

Tim is a great friend to all of us and your sarcasm isn't appreciated.
