cause they are 2 x 2 weave, and the rest of the carbon on my car is 1 x 1. Rexpeed doesnt make these in 1 x 1. They look pretty good on the car, I test fit them with tape, but the different weave of that and the lip would annoy (probably only) me. lol
Hey paul, I might be interested in those coltspeed dampners. Also I still can't believe how clean my car is after you detailed it. What was that sealant you used called again? I wanna pick some up so I can keep that clean look going.
Josh, please do keep your car looking good. I hate detailing my car because every time I do the front bumper I always get sad looking at all those rock chips.
Not to mention I mucked up my SE lip already on a large speed bump the other day.
Question for Paul & Paul (and who ever else cares to answer), I "clay bared" my car yesterday, and though the paint felt smoother, I'm not sure I really did it well. Is it really as simple as rubbing the paint with the clay or did I miss something? At first I forgot to use the spray and was getting pissed with the clay bar sticking to the damn paint, then I remembered that. Made life a little easier.
Also, what is this sealent you speak of and how does that work? Anything to make my car look cleaner longer I'm all for.

This is likely what Paul used, but I'm just guessing: http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-opti-seal.html

Yea using a claybar dry without any lube definitely is a sticky situation...
[Insert dirty comments below?]
Clay bar should take out any imperfections in the paint, both things you can feel as well as crap you can see in the paint (that takes more work).
When I got the CTS, it felt like there was sand embedded in the paint. It all came out pretty easily, though. You have to make sure that you constantly work the clay bar too and throw out pieces when the get really dirty. Else you are just going to scratch up the clear coat.
I have some sealant at home- I generally polish, seal and then put some wax on there. The P21S 100% carnuaba is my favorite. It seems to last a really long time and it's really easy to apply/remove.
Next time you come by we can take a look at your car.
