turcos/davids, wanna do diff fluids soon? i want to do this now, just ticked 20k and i think its time.
this is a dumb question, but davids you got your plugs/60k stuff from mitsubishiparts.net right? im gunna order plugs i want to do those soon too.
turcos, how about next weekend for spring install?
final dumb question, when you guys do oil do you usually replace the drain plug too? i might bring it to mitsu again today just out of convenience but i havent decided yet. obv if i do it myself i'd get an oem filter and crush washer from mistu.

Yeah, I need to do driveline fluids in the next month...
All my 60K service parts and the plugs from Mitsubishiparts.net but that may not be the wisest choice...the Iridium plugs cost more ( a lot more ) than copper and since they're so easy to change, you could be swapping them out every 10K....
you don't replace the drain plug, just the crush-washer that goes on it...thhey should be giving you a crush washer with each oil filter that you buy (from mitsu).
ALWAYS be sure to run Mitsu OEM oil filters (the short/fatty not the tall one)... running anythign aftermarket, even Mobil1, will cause more lifter tick.
I would be happy to help you thorugh your first Evo oil change if you want. I'd suggest picking up a Fumoto Valve from LubricationSpecialist.com. You'll want the F-106N...then you have super clean and easy oil changes for life... no need to get the crushwasher, either.
It has worked before, hit it twice, last time being, maybe 3 months ago, and thanksgiving, before any ECU pulls or tunes...I thought it was just in my head before, but last night I hit it again, and nothing, just revved to redline...weird..

so the plugs stock are copper, but you got iridium? i had put iridium ones on my celica. i was planning on probably doing plugs every 20k.
thatd be cool if you gave me a hand with the first oil change. i'll probably just use the drain plug this time b/c i'd like to get it done soon, but i'll probably order that valve anyway and throw it on next time.
btw how is the new rockband DLC?
yeah i used to get crazy lifter tick on my celica and i always ran mobil 1 filters on that. im def gunna stick with oem.

I cant do it next weekend, i think i am doing Steve's car and then sunday morning i leave for vegas. lets do it during the week one night, should only take us an hour or so if you guys do the rears and i do the fronts.
I would recommend doing fluids soon, we can all order together or get them at westboro. should be close to $100 a person. I also want to buy new plugs soon but i think amazon is the cheapest place to get them. You HAVE to buy iridiums because they dont make coppers for the IX head.
I would also recommend getting a fumotovalve. It is $20shipped and you will never have to change the plug or crush washer again.

Try not moving with the ebrake down. My 2-step doesn't work with the ebrake up either, not sure why because Dex's does.

we could shoot for springs this week. if we dont get to it its no biggie waiting till you get back buddy. if you need/want the $$ sooner just let me know.
wanna just buy 8 plugs and we'll split it? i am definitely in for splitting the fluid cost.
Stock are iridium... i forgot that there aren't coppers for the 9 head yet.
I have an extra fumoto valve in my garage...i am going to put it in my explorer but it is the same as the Evo valve. If you buy another one for me you can have the one that I've already got in the garage.
We can do springs at my place on Wednesday if you want... That way, I can help out as well and we can make it go by quickly... good time for an oil change, too! Let me know what you guys think.
Paul - Buy the Fumoto valve today...if you need to change the oil before it comes, you can have my valve.
BTW, my 2-step hits fine with the EBrake engaged... maybe it's a map issue?
