There's only a few places that I could imagine the throttle cable snagging, but in most of those places it should be sheathed and not require lubrication.

Over time, it's not unthinkable that the cable stretched and/or expands more with heat, but I have real doubts that the expansion would be so significant that the throttle would stick open, especially against the pressure of the closure spring.

If you have to pull the pedal up to close the throttle, I think you have 1 of two problems:

1) Your throttle body is dirty.

2) Your cruise control is causing your throttle cable to hang up, which could be:
A) Cruise control module dirty
B) Cruise control malfunction (including vac issue, if it's vac-operated)

I'd start with a throttle-body cleaning and lube...it's a decent maintenance item anyway. Maybe just a visual inspection, with the TB on the car, will confirm that it needs a cleaning.

Next, I'd take a peek at the cruise control.

Further, inspect any spot on the throttle cable where the bare cable goes into the sheath...check for residue/pollen+oil/road dust at those transitions.

Let us know how it goes.

No no no. This is why bruce loves his lancer... because he actually has to "try hard" to keep it from driving itself into a wall.

Seriously dude...go onto www.club240.com and look through the 'wheel and tire" thread. Search it. Find a size that people are running that you would feel comfortable with.

My Enkei rep fwd'd me this info for you, but its all 18" (which with coilovers says you should rock)
RPF1 18x9.5 $1400/set

Its already been driven into a telephone pole, a chainlink fence and had a F350 backed into the Bpillar... For a pos car it holds up pretty well to the **** i put it through.

Sweet, thanks for the help. As you can tell I know nothing about my car other than how to crash it and how to refill my flux capacitor...
