Philadelphia Car Meets
Pete, I can take a look at the code for you. I wouldn't jump on the battery yet. Check the voltage when the car is off and when it's running. It should be 12 volts off and around 14 at idle. If it's under say 11.5 when off then the battery is likely not holding a charge. If it's idling and the voltage isn't at least 13 then the alternator might be going out. Almost any automotive place will check the battery free for you. Autozone, Pep Boys Advance etc.
You'd be surprised about boost leaks. You can almost never see them visually unless a pipe has become disconnected. I did a leak test this weekend at 40 psi which seemed fine, then blew a pipe off this morning on my way to work getting on the go pedal at 30 PSI. Scared the hell out of me laying on my back on the side of rt 30 reattaching my LICP with cars wizzing by at 70+ MPH.

talk about a lot i want to respond too. oh and I am about to throw this F'ing pager out the window....christ almighty!
pete, marc just reminded me about the relearning parameters when you do a hard reset.... is the idle just searching. you know that it has to relearn the idle rpm and everything. it may start and warm up fine but once you get it warm and stop at a light it starts reving like crazy. is that it? even with a new battery it will have to do that all over again.
marc, i have an appointment at RT on Thursday at 330. I've read up on all the different idiosyncrasies of aligning a car and feel a little more confident it can get sorted out. which leads me to my next response...
chu, i don't know if this works with your schedule but if you want to make your appointment for thursday afternoon, i'll be there to hang out.
i'll be getting my bernese mountain dog on saturday. cant wait.
oh and i'm out for the cruise on the 14th.
edit: i must have misunderstood pete's issue. the fuel trim thing makes more sense to me now.

Guy's I replaced the battery at lunch and its still f-ed up. I've never had any issues with the car having to re-learn anything after the computer has been reset. I'm thinking its the idle air control valve or what ever that thing is called. I'm gonna have to wait for it to throw the code again so I can have it read. If and when it does that Josh I'll let you know if I don't just to go autozone or something. It never ends with this damn thing anymore...

On that note, anyone looking for a new helmet should wait until next year as Snell 2010 standards are coming out.
