When you are just cruising in the car it really kind of sputters a lot. Not real sure how to describe it. It just kinda seems like it's trying to hump the road. I wasnt too worried about it right at this moment because it still has a lot to get done to it, and it will get smoothed out in the process. I was just eager to get it back so i can get the plethora of parts out of my basement and into the car. lol.

So...... When we gettin together guys?!?!?

Hmmmm.... hook ups arent real easy to come by around these parts... i would highly suggest doing what you can yourself, or getting someone to help you/teach you, and then only going to them for the necessities.... i mean.... unless ya got the money to blow. i know i dont.

since we have quite few members who work on engine, and i hope on tranny too, maybe they can help me.
90% of the times I can not shift into 2nd gear. my 4th and 5th gear have been grinding but i never had problems with second gear, just after one race, it wouldn't go in. When I do put in 2nd gear, it drives fine, no grinding, it doesnt kick out of the gear, everything is great. Even when the car is off, i can not put it in 2nd gear. I believe its a 2nd gear fork. What do you guys think, and who should I see to fix it. I was considering to take a trip down to Ohio and let Shep deal with it, but school is starting next month, and I need to save a bit.

Well, if it's your daily, then i guess that rules out the option of sending the tranny to shep... :-\

Bro,you need to BUY the trans. that Redwing03 is selling and put it in an call it a day. Your trans would be so costly to go through as it needs, well everything. It has been grinding 4th and 5th for almost 2 years and 2nd has been a problem for over a year. Time to wash your hands of it's trans problems. I am sure that Redwing would give you a good deal, cash picked up of coarse.

so, here's another question.... say someone were to have a tranny in the condition that mire's is, could they still send it to shep to get rebuilt? Or would there be more involved than that?

You can, but it would cost you more since they would have to change few gears. When they build tranny, they only change linkage and syncros not the gears. One new gear can cost a lot.
