Im going to kill my car.
hahaha its funny you mention that....
I show that off at night. I can shock myself on demand even standing outside the car. I have NOOOOOOOO idea why this happens, but if I walk up to the car scrapping my feet on the ground, rubbing my stomach and tapping my head, the car shocks me and a big blue spark pops out haha.. no lie, lets have a static meet and I'll prove it to you. I'm grounded on pavement with rubber shoes and it still does it.... Now, if I drive with my big fluffy dog slippers on...the shock just hurts.

I felt bad not to long ago.. i went out with a girl and when she got out she got zapped too... then it happened again when we got home and I had to explain how my car actually sucked lol
hahha happens to me all the time. it has to do with the tires you're running and the temp outside. It usually happens in cooler/cold weather, usually in the summertime the charge won't build up enough on the outside of the car so you won't get shocked. It has to do with the tires picking up charge from the ground as you drive over it and thats whats causing you to get shocked most of the time and less to do with you yourself creatin the charge from say friction betweent he seats. You won't get shocked if you ground yourself to the car while stepping out. You get shocked because you're inside the car and the charge is flowing on the outside shell, and when you step outside and touch the ground you become grounded and then when you touch the car the charge moves from the outside shell through you to the grounding source. Technically you shouldn't get shocked if you ground yourself to the car and touch the outside, IE touch the metal part of the steering wheel as you come out and touch the outside door of the car and then touch the ground with your feet. you can also try to not touch any metal panel on the outside of the car as you get out at all, though that gets hard and you get suprise shocks.
