Body shop

Someone was backing out of their drive way. Didn't see my car. And dented in my driver's side door. The individual agreed to pay to fix the damage....any way I want. Whether I want to replace the door Or get it fixed. I'd rather not replace the door considering its already been tinted and such.

Can you guys reccommend a good body shop in LI or surrounding boroughs and what do you guys suggest I do??

Replace the door and have them pay to re-tint it.

They said "any way" right? repair it to how it was before they damaged it, tinted and all

The guy that hit me said that he would pay to repair it any way I chose. Of course they recommended a body shop in Queens. I told them that I would have to think about it. I would much rather replace the door. No painting or **** like that. Matching the paint and stuff is a concern of mine.

So replace the door and have him pay for the one window tint job?....

I called the dealer and a spoke to their body shop. Whether I replace the door or get the dent fixed, they have to paint and they have to blend. So, right now, its a matter of finding a body shop that knows what they are doing.

For those of you on LI......please recommend some good body shops....preferably on LI.

Blue Ribbon Auto Body in Deer Park - one look inside at the cars that are there, and you'll feel in very good company...have known Rich for ages, awesome guy to deal with, and positively **** about the results!

I took my RS there about two years ago to have the quarter panel replaced, painted, and installed. Rich is a really REALLY nice guy and the cars there, like you mentioned, are a treat to see. Unfortunately, it's far away from me, and secondly, the paint on the quarter panel started chipping about a year later. I was really dissapointed to see that. He matched the paint really well, but for the price I paid, which was about 10-15% more than what other were quoting, I expected a superior job.

How about Mid Island Collision in Rockville Centre???

Pro1 Auto.. they built my race car and are one of the best on LI.. www.pro1auto.com

btw.. http://bbs.overlord.net:9000/userpics/malibu_nov.jpg
This car has one MANY shows and has the straightest bodywork I've ever seen done at a local shop. (this is my car by the way)

Rates are pretty good, and will work with you on insurance claims too..
