this has to be a go.

btw, did some reading in my instructings, aparently channels like 8 through 14 on two way radios are short range and all the others are longer range. might just be mine. according to mine 11 will only give me a 5 mile range at best and I have 10 mile walkies. Soooo...maybe we should check that out a bit and grab a new channel, just a thought.

I'll keep my call sign simple I think and go with Doc.

we should have a certain cut off time so everyone knows when to look on here to see if the meet is go.

I just looked at 2 different weather sites and they are sayin 50-60% chance of rain. not too good...

I also looked it up. Looks like we might have to reschedule if its correct. That cut off time is a good idea.

Also my radios are the same as yours Doc. Channel 11 is a short range channel on mine although im not sure what range they have on that channel.

my opinion is that the batch of rain heading this way will hit the jetstream and head in western ma, and east to boston....but north of that I *think* we may be ok...? We may hit some rain in the early am, but in the afternoon and late morning heading north we may be ok

and channel 16

I hope my tire will be fine if we do go tomorrow. I have a slow leak in it basically it loses about 4-5 pounds of air per week (filled it up monday with 32PSI checked it today and it had 28 PSI) and I went to fix it today (Procrastinated a bit and I also work nights right now so my schedule is all messed up) and what a nightmare. I tried using the factory lug remover with a piece of pipe, no luck. I looked through my tool box for a socket and a drive and I had the socket and no 1/2 in. drive. So I went out and bought some adapters so a 1/2" socket would work with a 3/8" drive and I still couldnt break the lugs. I ended up breaking my 3/8" drive and once I fianlly found my 1/2" drive I found out that was useless as well since it would slip when I tried to loosen the lugs. Time to invest in a new set of drives and possibly a breaker bar lol. Not to mention I hauled out most of my tools and my 100 lbs. floor jack for no reason and if I did end up getting the lugs off the last time it would have been to late because the tire placed is closed.

P.S I thought lugs were supposed to be torqued down to 80 ft.lbs? I even tried using my battery powered impact gun that I use at work which puts out IIRC 130 ft.lbs and that wouldnt even take them off.

19DB794 (sorry man don't know your name) we will check your tire at every stop. I have a digital guage in my car if you want to use it to keep and exact eye on the tire pressure.

Thats a pretty sick weather site. Good shots to see the hurricane.
