Car Vandalized 2 of past 4 nights in NJ

Okay, I am very sorry for venting here, but I parked my car next to my girlfriends house Late friday night into saturday morning. I wake up for work at like 6:30 and go outside and notice this juice crap all over the side of my car exposed to the street. As I looked more in depth, there is a nice sized dent in my quarter panel(rear), right below the little triangle window along the edge of the door. It looks as if someone kicked it, but then I looked at the ground and saw a broken bottle. Someone chucked an open bottle of snapple at my car, I guess trying to hit a window but hit my side instead causing juice to fly everywhere and shatter when it hits the ground. Cops came got a police report and actually bringing my car to go get an estimate as soon as I am done posting this message.

Last night my team had a meeting about the vandalizm that has been growing rapidly in the area and what we are going to do to protect ourselves. We go to our local joint, which we are all known by name at. As we are getting into our cars we notice this white stuff all over our cars(for me it was the hood and front bumper). Looked like silly string but as I got closer it was shaving cream. We went back inside got stuff to clean it up with and got it off. The shaving cream ate through the paint on the hood of our racer. I didn't notice any permanent damage on mine, but it was also so dark out so hopefully I am okay.

Point is, why **** with someone's car? One day, I swear to god, someone is going to be in the middle of doing something when I meet their face with a nice boot. You can be jealous, hate yeah, understandable. But you are crossing the line when chucking a glass bottle at someones vehicle or rubbing shaving cream into their car to eat through clear coat. Oh well, I am done, thanks for reading and being understanding guys and gals! Hopefully everyone in my area stays safe.

Wow, I am really sorry to hear that

I swear, people are such *******s, just cause you have something better than they'll ever have, they have to try to damage your ride.

Thats why I'm scared to get mine done - where I work, it's known for that **** - also got drug busts, shootings, etc.

Luckily I park in a deck, but still, that doesn't protect me always

I hope one day you finally catch the rat bastards that are doing this!!!

I feel you. The small triangular shaped window on my back left side was broke out in the middle of the night. Nothing was stolen since there was nothing to take, but they were nice enough to leave a bunch of blood in my car, obviously from cutting their hand on some glass. I'm still driving around with no window since they had to order from mitsubishi Japan and is on back order. It's been over two weeks now. Idiots. I wished I could catch someone in the act too. Been dreaming of it

This is why I am getting out of Jersey. People have no respect for other people's property.

My car has been safe accept for those damn birds

I hope you find them, the cops won't do crap. They are too busy looking for people in nice cars to bust for speeding or reckless driving

It's not just Jersey, but sorry to hear about that. I just can't imagine why people are such flaming dickbags. Good luck to you, Zapco...Can't imagine how badly I'd flip out if that were to happen to me.

That sucks and it can obviously happen anywhere, but I'll say that NJ is definitely a tough place to be a car enthusiast.

Much of the vandalism I hear about on the East Coast occurs in NJ.

Depends where you live in Jersey. We're generally more prone to car theft than anything else with such high theft areas as Jersey City, Newark and Camden to name a few. Most of NJ however does not have these types of problems. I think the fact that there are a lot of NJ Lancer/Evo owners has more to do with the amount of vandalism you hear of from this area than anything else.

Well, I just came back from the auto body shop that my insurance company sent me to for an estimate. 600 dollars in damage with a 500 deductible. There is not even a point to even take the claim through my insurance company because then my insurance goes up even higher than the extreme height it's already at. Insurance companies are ***, I am sorry. Someone comes by throws a glass bottle at my car while I am sleeping, and I wind up paying for it regardless, even with full coverage. I say **** full coverage then, I will drop all my comprehensive and just get liability. I will be paying for damage no matter what, why pay 5,000 dollars a year for insurance on a Lancer(a family 4 door sedan). Ridiculous. I am going to be parking at a local hangout, and leaving my car parked with a few others from the team, then we will be hiding across the street, and right when someone does something nail em hard with a fist. I had enough of this crap. It's happening too often from my neighborhood.

Luckily, I went to my body guy, who painted all my fiberglass and my body kit and all that stuff, and he was heartbroken. All my graphics have to be taken off, then have to be put back on after I get my car fixed. At least he's doing the fix for like 450 dollars. I will take pictures of the damage when the rain settles down. I swear though, when you see it, you will NOT think a bottle did this, but apparently, it's the only thing it could have been. You'll see in a little bit.

This is exactly why I leave mine 35 minutes away in my parent's garage (on a wait-list for one in my apartment complex) and will get an alarm too (though it won't prevent this bottle incident from occuring).

This is one of the many reasons I will hopefully move out of this state some day.

Damn. If you don't mind my asking, where the hell do you guys live? It's cushy as hell here. (meaning I can park on the streets with relatively no fear of theft) I had left my car on the street for the longest until recently (for no particular reason I started parking it in our driveway) with no problems.
