Aem Ems Tuner?

Anyone in the ME,MA,RI,CT Area that is able to tune using an AEM EMS ECU? I just bought my first evo and the kid had it tuned for 100+ octane and I need it tuned back down to pump gas?

Thanks

Ivey is in NJ. You can PM him on the forum for more information.

You have plenty of options.
In CT alone there is:
Pruven Performance
Dynoflash (ICS Shop)
The Shop

Dan (the owner of Pruven) tuned my aem this past summer. Before all the haters chime in my car is making unbelievable safe power with the Pruven tune and built engine. Actually, if you just research the boards I think I am one of the last High horsepower CT evos still running right now (other than the guy from "the shop" who has a similar build to mine...can't think of his name)

I could list FOUR 500+ evos in CT alone that have spun road bearings over this past summer and are down for rebuilds. Just research the shop you plan to bring the car too and decide if you are comfortable letting them tune your car.

Where the spun rod bearings the fault of the tuner and is the tuner from CT?

You really want to go to an EVO experienced tuner ESPECIALLY for the AEM. just because a shop has a tuner doesn't mean they know how to tune an evo.

BTW what are your power goals, why not stay with the stock ecu?

It doesn't look like that shop has a AWD dyno. If you want one of the best tuners on the east coast then you should go the Sean Ivey.

This has been a long debate and will continue forever most likely. First of, is the aem ems really needed with your car? if its already in it, doesnt mean it should stay. what kind of setup does the car have?
But to answer your question, I think there is a few great tuners in new england Dan at Pruven has been around for a long time, but I would highly recommend Ivey in NJ if you are asking for the best tuner in the northeast.

Hey Guys,

I literally just bought the car 2 weeks ago and it already had the AMS EMS ECU. The car was already tuned for 100+ Octane so I can't drive it since in the state of Maine the highest have is 91 and all the race tracks here are closed. The mods that came with the car are:

Extreme Turbo Systems Exhaust System 4 Inch
(Turbo Back)
Kelford 272 Intake and Exhaust Camshafts
OEM Head Gasket
L19 Head Studs
R&R Exhaust Manifold T3
JMF Intake Manifold
Strictly Modified Fuel Rail
1000cc Fuel Injectors
Walboro 255 Fuel Pump
Garrett Ball Bearing GT35R Turbo
Tial Waste Gate that is dumped off into the dump tube
Tial Q Blow off Valve
AMS Upper Pipe
AMS Small Battery
R&R Lower Pipe
Turbo XS Front Mount Intercooler
AMS Spark Plug Cover (Chrome)
HKS DLI Ignition System
AEM EMS New Computer System mounted in the same spot as the stock ECU Computer behind the Glove box
AEM Wideband Gauge mounted on the steering wheel
Defi Boost Gauge (Clear) Mounted on the steering wheel with the Defi link
Quarter Master Twin Plate Clutch
Forged Performance 4" Intake
Rear Differential Bushings
Trail Arm Bushings
Shifter Bushings

I emailed the SHOP in CT and he told me that it would be: $ 500 for the tune and or re tune.

My Power goals are around 500HP on pump gas, Not sure if its possible on a stock block. The kid told me at 110 octane he was at 600+AWP which I think is bull but I am a new Evo owner so what do I know? so what do you guys think?

Thanks

500whp on 91 oct and a stock block I think is unrealistic. If you don't have emissions in Maine then I would stick with the AEM ems. IF Maine does have emissions though, I would move over to stock ecu and get it retuned. A few parts on that car seem to be not really needed but no biggie.
