Yeah, you guys claiming it was no big deal certainly sound like you had it pretty easy. Stuff is/was pretty messed up by me... Streets closed with trees hanging on power/telephone lines and such. Couple of guys here at work still have no power at home.
Switching subjects. Marc, you said the E30 looked like a 4x4, what all did you do to the suspension?

yeah, I'm finding out there are a few people at work who still don't have power. When they;re telling me this all I can think of is dear god I hope your nasty *** showered and brushed your tooth before you came into work.
I drove it around a little more yesterday and the car isn't setteling so I guess it is what it is. at this rate, I think I can actually drive OVER cones rather than around them.Brakes work fine now. Old pads just needed to be bedded on the new rotors. Car is fun to drive but very, very slow. It really is a momentum car.
Marc, whenever you're ready, VAC Motorsports has some really nice suspension setups for these cars! I got some Bilteins on the E30 at home, and RacingBrake pads for dd use. Seems to work great so far. The old brakes, whatever they are, were horrible!

I would have loved to put some Bilsteins on the car, but the cheapest I could find a set was around $600 and I don't know if that was with our without springs. I wasn't ready to put that kind of coin into the suspension before I felt how the car did on track.
Once the car deems itself worthy enough it will be made into a track only car and get the full treatment that goes along with it (gutted, seats, cage, suspension, ect). But thats only if/when its reliable enough. First it has to pass as a reliable DD and be able to do a couple autoxes. If it can't do those things well, it cant be a track car for me and it will be sold and hopefully replaced with a cheap E36 M.

ohh yeah, you guys doing the PCA event in October @ NJMP, I am hoping to have the e30 track worthy by then. It would be cool to run in the Blue/White group with some of you and see if I can keep up.

E30 parts are so cheap for the most part, its almost hard not to use them for track purposes.
If your Flags are cheap enough, I would buy them. My Ohlins are comin off this winter for a rebuild. They're so old, I'm noticing rust on the rear already. The fornts need to be rebuilt badly, and it will cost me about $600 to rebuild the two fronts. Parts for these PCVs are alsio scarce now. I am considering buying something if the price is right, instead of doing the rebuild. SERIOUSLY!
