Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Have been lurking, not motivated to post because I was drunk all weekend. Home alone will do that to a fella... wifey took my dude down the shore, I was on dog duty.
I wanted to congratulate Thai and Marc for the video interviews they gave to Narra, I guess we are in the presence of Racing greatness here on PCD.
Who all is doing the Holbert this weekend? We could use some more peeps, it is a charity event you know.. would be nice if some more of you guys could make it out.

fineberg let me borrow the flatbed thing for the 21st
i need to go to SJR autox and also bring the wife and baby and two dogs to the shore.
I still find it funny that my car was one of the only few that kept running every session, not a complete session because I usually would run out of gas prior to a 30 minute session completed.

Dear, AIB
Car is hitting 25psi without full throttle.
I've gone down 2 rounds on the mbc, haven't tested it again since last turn down, will report back. Whatever you touched on my mbc wouldn't cause it to not control boost, correct?
Gman

To much racing (Autocross=real racing BTW) going on right now taking up my $. We have Holbert this weekend and then Toledo last weekend of month. I have not even touched my car except for disconnecting the battery. I did buy oil and antifreeze, need to get thermostat and new gasket for there. I just want all oil and antifreeze leaks to be handled as well as overheating issue. It is hard to concentrate on driving the correct lines (let alone showing you foolz) with all those issues with car.

Is AC airport with SJR worth all that hassle? Doubt it, just do both Holbert days and you will be good to go!
You want to borrow my Forge (or buy it)? Sounds to me like your ball is sticking in MBC causing the overboost. Same exact thing happened to mine. I run EBC now so I have the MBC sitting. My MBC has new ceramic ball from Forge, so it is good to go.
Come over and change oil and we can change antifreeze and you can have at it. You know your car would be find Autocrossing, it is not going to be in boost long enough to "overboost" and do any damage IMO. Just come and get the MBC and your problem should get fixed.
I didn't touch your MBC, if you recall. I told you to crank it down (meaning add PSI) a few turns so it wouldn't bleed boost while we were testing. You probably turned it all the way down (added max boost) and might have messed up the spring as Mike said. It is easy to fix.
My suggestion... pull it off and loosen the knob as you blow into the port that points down. There should be no air coming out at first, but as you loosen that knob you should eventually feel air coming out of the port that runs left/right. Once you have air coming out of that port is about when your MBC will start to bleed off air and keep the WG shut. The more you crank it down the more boost you'll run and vise versa.
Retards,
AiB.
In my case when the boost leak was fixed I was running 23 WG bleeding to 20psi. Days before with the leak I was showing 25psi down to 23psi. Turbo had to work harder for the targeted psi.
I still haz boost leak, j-pipe, mad leaky yo!
I think I'm just way off from where I need to be on the mbc. I did turn the boost all the way up after all... I really won't know until the leak is fixed, which will be tomorrow.

my halman mbc was stuck before and wouldn't boost over 15 psi. i took it apart and there was a small piece of metal which cause the ball to be stuck. once i cleaned it, it was all good. this happened when we were at Shen, you and marc was there saturday when it rain like ****.
