Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
they look good when done right... but that is few and far between. There was/is a guy from NJ who had LIP do his kit and it came out great IMO.
There's a group of us in Reading too. We sometimes intermingle with the Philly folk, but are our own wolf pack. I believe we are due for a Friday night happy hour up here soon. Just let me know if you want to know when we are meeting up.
Depends on whether it was a real Voltex kit, or a replica. I don't think an 10k body kit would fit like crap, or used by real race cars!
I believe that Adam (Evo8Dad) had done mechanical work for him. The kid said that he AutoX's the car with the South Jersey SCCA. My first question obviously was if the Voltex Canards could withstand a good cone hit. He wasn't sure as he hadn't done an AutoX since the kit had been installed.
Considering how much money he has invested in that kit, I think that it would be pretty funny if he isn't able to AutoX because of a fragile and expensive front bumper/canards.
I'm not trying to talk bad about the owner, he seemed like a nice guy. I just don't understand the thought process behind investing in something like that.
I saw this car in person at the Ridley Park DSM meet this past summer. Chip and Ben were both there, I'm sure they could chime in on it as well. The car looked very good in person, and it definitely appeared to have been installed properly. The kid who owned the car spent an absolute fortune on it. IIRC he said that the parts alone cost $9k and he gave a body shop $7k for the installation. It was a full Voltex kit minus the wing.

I liked the wheels but overall wasn't feeling the whole kit especially after hearing the $ amount for it. I beleive JMF did or was going to do work on it for a new power setup but can't remember for sure. What stood out to me most was the long history he had with the car (long ownership, few accidents, etc) that put him in the position to do the kit.
EDIT: i also want to add, LIP does great work from everything i see and next time i need something done i'm definitely going out of my way to try there if possible.
