I do part time consulting work for a Venture Capitalist company, I approached the owner yesterday about building an E85 only gas station in NJ, he doesn't and has no clue about E85.

Do you guys think it will be a great idea? if yes what do I need to say and prove for him to get convinced to do it?

I told him already that there are ruffly 100 mass produced E85 vehicles in production,
E85 greatly improves performance gains in High performance vehicles so he would have that market,
E85 is 10-15% cheaper then regular gas
there are only 2 other gas stations in NJ that sell E85 (the East Orange one is 5 minutes from my office) so he would almost have a Monopoly if the gas station only sells E85.

i think it would be more lucrative to have a station that offers all fuels 87/93/e83/biodiesel.

location: right off the AC expressway dead between philly and AC.

E-85 is the fuel that will help us get into the future of fossil fuel free cars. If there are so few stations in the area, most likely all performance cars will get fuel from you since E-85 is so rare in the area. I would also recommend having all fuels possible at the location. There are quite a few cars that run E-85, however the ratio of gas:ethanol is still extremely high. I would have at least one form of unleaded gas, biodiesel and E-85. Make it a green gas station too, so you can get the majority of tree huggers to stop there.

We'll get frickin 2000 E85 stations in NJ the minute after I get my car back, I can see this coming already

Ya Paramus, Fort Lee, Edgewater, Hackensack, Paterson, Parsippany, Clifton, all these areas are just a few in Northern NJ (Bergen County) that could use stations. The problem with us running E85 is that it becomes a little impossible to actually do E85 until its basically everywhere, I drive a lot and I drive all over, and I cant be running out of gas or scrambling just to find a place that had E85.

I guess that's an alright location if the dude was building 10 stations. As a starting point, though, it's in the middle of no where.

I agree with this point entirely. I drive my car and would hate to run out of gas on my way to work without the option of filling up with e85 again. Dual maps with switching is definitely needed at this point unless you don't take long trips.

E85 is not the future and its current presence is limited. There's no way in hell I'd invest in an E85 only station.

Any one know if They have yet to put any E85 pumps in SJ yet. I read on some nj gov forum that they were gonna out a few hundred city services vics in the SJ area and convert like 50-60 stations by 2011 but i have yet to hear anything or see anything. since i saw that last year.

To have them as e85 in the middle of the ac xway is not in the middle of know where. would not be a waste. so much traffic passes through there everyday. x100 on the weekeds. x100 again in the summer and weekends in the summer. perfect spot. like the farly rest stop.

OK first. Where the hell was I when they built a e85 gas station in east orange. I live here n never knew we had one. Where is the location?
