This is a typical dealer reaction to a modded Evo especially one w/o a cat. I don't think they mean they themselves will fine you but they can report you and you will get fined for not having a cat. But if they really said you need authorization to mod the car then they are full of ****. If it was me, I wouldn't bring the car in to the dealer without a cat unless I knew the service mgr/techs and they are ok with it. Best bet is to bring the car to performance shop with good mechanics, you'll get a lot less hassle and it'll probably cost you less than the dealer to put in your cusco.

 

1. You don't need permission to modify your car. You should go over one day with your cat back on and tell them to suck it.

2. Like it's been stated, the dealership has no authority to fine you, but they can easily report you, so you may want to put a cat back on.

3. It makes my brain hurt too, Vanilla...It's sort of an intense throbbing feeling...

thats madd gaaaaay.. i would understand if they fine u if u mod ur car and its leased. but 20Gs ?!!? ... hell no... i'll break all the windows in the lot if they ever told me i cant drive it home...

1. as a former nys inspecter, THEY the dealer(or any other repair shop or person) can be fined for working on a car that has the cat removed.
2. Anyone notice that a butt load of mitsu dealers are closing in the north east?, they are on the list i'd bet(just look at the facility)
3. If i was the service writer and you acted this way to ,me, you'd be having a voided warranty, and the rockland sheriff escorting you out(possible trespass charges for being a jerk)
4. It is people like you that ruin it for people who have legit problems with their cars, i bet it was your car that they did the trans on too wasn't it?
5. stay in school......you need the education

The guy still haven' answer how old he is, seriously I like to know. For someone to speak in this form of launguage in public, I think the kid got confuse when the dealer said to him it will be fine if you give me $20000 to teach you how to speak english. so I think the kid just got confused thats all. muahahaha problem solved
