PCD: Last year's version
Personally I follow the pretzel method. If my arms are getting close to tangled - "pretzel-ed" I shuffle steer. I do not like to have my arms all crossed up. With that said you should need to do minimal shuffling while on a road course, no turns are that tight. I really do not remember shuffling much at Lightning, wish I had video to check that out. Also I am a 9 & 3 guy, no hand on shifter unless your shifting. I holler at peeps for keeping their hand on shifter in autox, what is the point, you usually shift once, unless at Warminster on Simmonz 3rd gear course (we used 3rd gear last event at Warminster). Road course, shift and put your hands back on the wheel.
sounds like me.
I started shufflin because of autox and carried it over to DE. Now I'm constantly telling my self to keep my hand still, lol. Hard technique to unlearn. I like keeping my hands where they are on the wheel cause it feels like i have better control of the car and i 'think' I am using less steering now than when I was shufflin'

Look at my youtube channel to see how I place my hands in different type of cars and when I break them which is rarely. It's the reason why I do mostly in cabin footage over dash cams. I want to make sure my hands and feet are doing what they should be at the right times and that I'm looking far enough ahead where I need to go.
You two just go have sex already... all the bickering is getting old.
Simmon's will tell you shuffling is the only way to drive in autox. Anything that guy tells me as far as autox goes, I consider gospel.
Personally I use the 9-3/10-2 method.

he also says to put miller lite in the gas tank... team beer-aid FTW!
Simmonz hand speed is not normal, not many people can move their hands that fast. If you asked him he would agree with what I said mostly and then tell you he shuffles more than most but his hands are very fast. I don't think its wrong wither way, just do not get your arms all tangled up holding onto wheel.
If you talk to Strano, Junior, and the like they will tell you don't shuffle unless you need to for tight corners.
Danny's channel has a mix of pro drivers in it showing inputs. https://www.youtube.com/user/dannykao
Strano on road course. His video shows for people with long torso short legs or bigger body mass can still do it close to steering wheel.
