There should be some newbs there. My brother in law and his buddy want to try this ish out. they're cool dudes, but they don't know what they're in for. THey think its gonna be a demolition derby or something like that where you can block and ram people like bumper cars. I told them thats not how it goes but they are the type that need to see it with their own eyes, so I plan to show them.
Here's my cool story for today:
I was driving home yesterday and wondering I don't drive the Evo to and from work more often then I noticed that I have been using 5% throttle from 0-60mph in a 70whp corolla for the last hour and a half, then I realized why I don't.
Have a nice day.

Notice how he NEVER takes his eyes away from the direction he wants to go. Dude has mad track cred now... along with some soiled pants, probably.

He was my student. I rode with him all day Thursday and the first session Friday before I signed him off. Then in the next session he spun in the chicane, said he got a little greedy on the exit....He had the big spin in T1 in the third session due to fluid from another car. Didn't do any damage to the car and he was back out there tearing it up for the last session. He could have run in the black group but he was happy in blue so I didn't push him.
glad to hear he didn't do damage to the car and wasn't shaken too badly.
if it makes you feel better, you don't need the carrera to look like a complete douche, you accomplish that just fine in the EVO.
Can't make the 19th with Schattenbaum, unfortunately, but myself and a few others will be there the following weekend with NASA.
I'm sure Dek has given you the run-down already, but just listen to everything your instructor says and don't try to 'go fast' or 'race' and you will have a blast. Report back here after the event with your impressions. I always love to hear what a newb has to say after their first track day, lol.
Good luck.
