PCD: Last year's version
Didn't realize I hit all those cones yesterday, lol. I knew the runs were dirty, but figured one or two.
At least my one clean run was (barely) fast enough to stay ahead of Tony and keep the DOY battle close. It comes down to Dover in a few weeks...

And on the course... third gear with foot to the floor out of the last slalom to the finish turn. I need to pull my GPS data to see top speed. Also could have used a few more mph on the way out. We were right on the rev limiter into and through the angled walloms to the turnaround.
We also learned that banging the rev limiter hard (eg. wot) for more than a few seconds makes the car very unhappy. I think it fouls the plugs or something, but it definitely was scary for a minute when the car was misfiring. Cleared up after running a minute, but not cool.

Let me just say driving The Beast was an awesome experience. I am actually sore today--though I think most of that came from being a passenger on Finberg's first run where we got Ken Block style air over the bump in the middle of the course...and the rest run was just plain violent.
My first run (the one with four cones) Mike said I drove the course like I was in a kart still and I needed to leave more room on my right side (which is the side I hit all the cones). With that advice and with Aaron's Obi-wan like, "trust the tires," I managed to get that last, clean, fast run...though it could have been that I had Pete as a passenger for that one.
Both Aaron and Mike were faster than I was on the way out (both of them on the limiter for a while, where I was not), so I would bet that my time from the turn-around back was where I made up the time on Mike.
Can't wait to see the videos.

how was the MOD hardparking event?
I am stoked for the next 3 weekends of racing... probably going to be my last 3 until 2013
This weekend is WGI domination w/NARRA.
Next weekend is Thunderbolt with NASA.
and the following weekend I am toying with the idea of running one last Schattenbaum event the 3rd & 4th to finish the year out.
get at meh bishes

Good job Pete on locking up the win in your class!
Nelson, way to lay the smack down, looks like your car is getting sorted out. I wish I would have watched you guys all run, but since we were in same heat I was busy with car and did not see anything.
Justin, nice job in a car you never drove, top 10 PAX finish is no joke. Two events in a row I have been beatin by guys who are not familar with Shoe's car. To say I am a little frustrated is an understatement. I have a lot of excuses why I did not perform yesterday, but whatever was beaten fair and square both times. My butt is all hurt right now
Shoe is one event away from DOY for Philly region, presently has points lead. It is a battle between him and Tony F'in Savini. Tony is no slouch, Shoe will have his work cut out for him, it will be a battle to the end. So nice job again driving Shoe, you may have to start coaching me up soon! or maybe we can do some events that are not all slaloms and transitions (Warminster), not my strong point

^ think I'm done at summit for the year. I know about the event at the beginning of August, but I don't feel like making the 4hr trip down there. I'll do an early 2013 FATT event to kick the year off, similar to what we did last year.

The thread you are currently posting in better suited for bench racing and such.
