PCD: Last year's version
Having done only one season on 10k/12k, its definitely a lot looser than it was with a more stock set up. It really mitigated/eliminated understeer for the most part. I don't think I personally would run higher rates while on street tires.
I don't know what the motion ratios are on the X. Probably not too different, but I wouldn't use my numbers on your setup. It's probably safe to assume the rear is much lower than the front, so running a higher rate in the back still makes sense.

That includes Mike and Aaron.
hello friends. how is everyone?
dan, what coils are you running on your car
my buddy explained steering ratio to me about evos vs other cars, something like 14? I asked because the steering in the e46 i was driving felt very heavy and less precise. didnt realize how much of a difference it makes.
anyone have another explanation for our vs other cars (sti, audi etc?) that i can actually understand?
Anyone want to meet at tjs, baggats, or thereas's next door for a beer tonight or tomorrow? meeting another one of my boys early, but then wana have another beer. helps dull the pain in my knee.
come at me bro!

No. The goal is to balance the car with the effective spring rates. There are lots of calcs based on unsprung weight at each corner and weight distribution that can give you a theoretical target for each end. I wasn't into all the suspension calc stuff when I picked my spring rates, so I when off what I knew others used. It's somewhat trial and error to get the feel you want. Just remember that car rotation should be controlled with spring rates and alignment, not damper settings.
nevermind, i figured it was simple spring rate divided by motion ratio, but its spring rate divided by motion ratio squared. now it makes sense!
Wheel rate is spring rate times motion ration squared. There are lots of different places to start reading on suspension setup. Far North Racing has a nice web page with lots of good info... http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets5.html
