How many Evo in US

I live in NYC. In Manhattan since I've had the car maybe a month now I have only seen one other one. I actually see more STI, A4, S4, 335xi and M3's than I see Evo's. I'm wondering does anyone have any idea how many Evo X roam the US?

Kind of a good thing that I don't see the car very often.

There are thousands of Evo's in the US. But they are extremely rare in some regions. They are abundant here in CA and from what I can tell FL. On one trip to San Antonio TX that lasted about two weeks I only saw one though. And it was in rough shape. lol

pretty much I believe CA is the capital for evo's

florida a distant second , followed by TX very close.

Honestly even though there seems to be a lot of evo,s there are not that many

VIII's and IX are getting stolen left and right , totalled , exported.. that there are not that many left.

X's are a lot more expensive to buy new.. so there not that abundant everywhere.. lets face it all evo's are nitched to start off with and they are not that many.

I guess we can be counted as the few and the lucky few to own one

Here around Phoenix, I know about 5-10 other X's get spotted on a regular basis, but I'm usually lucky if I see 1/month.

There are only a couple X's here around me locally, well in about a 30 mi radius, in GA. One OB one, a PB one and another WW one. I think there are about the same amount of VIII & IX's.

Definitely not many. I like that though.

You do know that there is a Subaru Distribution center and Regional Office there in Denver correct I noticed a lot more Subaru's in that when I lived there over the Evo and I can say the same thing about Utah. I see and know a lot of Evos in my area, (40+ Evos) comes with my line of work but still see 10 x's as many Subarus

Back when I lived in Denver I only remember seeing about 3 Evos in 6 months time I don't know if anyone remembers this or can confirm this as well, but since Subaru has a branch there the local police had a few undercover unmarked STI's to catch street racers I believe they where all black and blacked out with some modifications This was years ago though so don't know if they still do that or not

Back on topic there where about 20k Evolutions 8-9 Produced and sold in the USA for the 2003-2006 model years.

Brake down of years and productions number.

LANCER EVOLUTION 2003 - 4,513
LANCER EVOLUTION 2004 - 4,161
LANCER EVOLUTION 2005 - 4,500? about not exact.
LANCER EVOLUTION 2006 - 7,100? about not exact.

Not 100% on the STI and their productions number for all of the year (Hard to find true numbers on them) and since they where a year behind, but from what I can gather and see in 2004 the STI's first (Year in the USA) they produced and sold 7310 STI's. 2005 they supposedly sold a bit more (Don't believe more than 8k though), but could not find the exact numbers. 2006 was comparable to the 04 and 05 years and numbers. I looked into the 2007 year as well to give the STI a 4 year run like the Evos as they where a that year behind and the 2007 year STI was a limited number. I saw 2 different number putting it in the 700 and 800 produced for that year. (Pretty low and limited)

Based on the 2004-2007 STI numbers that would put them around 23k+ STI's produced and sold in the USA.

Conclusion: Yes there are more STI's in the USA than Evos + not to mention all of the WRX's that have been produced which is 3-5x's the production numbers of STI's that can and do look similar

I would also say its probably safe to say that with all the Evo's that have been totaled and turned into no street legal track/race cars there are a lot less on the road today

Thanks,
Dallin

you will not see many in nyc. the road conditions are not very good. I drive all over nyc everyday the pounding my truck gets would ruin my evo. Everynow and then I do take the evo in early morning and get coffee. I rip some gears though the wall street area and the sound that echoes through the valley of buidlings always makes me smile.

Roads are really rough here. I wish I could drop my Evo without having to worry.

I know Michael Ko. He was my manager at a Mitsu dealer. I think he's in the whole tristae Evo thing. How do get in contact with them? I'd like to roll with some Evo guys for a day.
