PCD: 2013-2014 Till We Break It Edition
Maybe I'm paranoid but I always thought they asked so they can keep a history of what you bought to DIY for if/when you ever came in for warranty work.
D'Ambrosio by me does the same thing. They won't sell you anything without it regardless if you have part number or not. I don't see why they'd be worried about warranty work when they won't even do regular TSB's on their own time.

Probably because they just punch in your VIN number and all the parts for the associate car comes up. They're probably too lazy to use the drop down boxes to select year, make, model, trim, etc. The only other logical reason is they want to make sure you get the right part number using the VIN associated with the car. I went to Toyota because to get spark plugs and they wouldn't sell to me because my car was too low mileage to change spark plugs. Unbelievable.
I order parts from there all the time. I've actually become buddy-buddy with the guys (mad homo), they don't ask me anymore. They did the first couple of times a long time ago... maybe they have it on file or something, idk. The guys there are actually pretty cool, they even let me return parts that I've special ordered, most places won't let chu do that.
Exactly.
Exactly.
owner when you're on a first name basis with the parts guy at the stealership"
There is one guy that was ok to deal with in the parts department at D'Ambrosio last time I was there. I've always had great interactions with Mike at Cherry Hill. Their prices are better and he will take the time to look up a part and actually go out of his way to get something for you. He hooked Tim S up when he needed a tcase seal and it was back ordered. And they never asked me for a vin.

Say's chu. I bet dek pay list when he goes to D'Ambrosio.
****, you don't have Mitsu dealer with 50miles of your crib. You have to call and bother chu to get parts for chu. STFU, grown ups be talking here!

It is up for sale. Waiting see what kind of offers I get before deciding on parting her out.
If you guys can't come up to help with the part out, that will be sad
. But I'll have to get it done in some way, shape, or form.
Sad about my IX being gone. But I've got other cars to look forward to as I move on.
