Wonder how someone would let it go that badly without fixing it. Would it be crossing the line if the mechanic doesn't release the car due to potential danger?

In college, I had a dodge avenger that was eating through rear tires like on a regular basis. I had lifetime alignment at Firestone and it would be out of spec in months. That car broke my college budget. I ended up neglecting my brakes and word them down so low that the calipers locked up and made a horrendous noise. I brought it to one shop and was shocked by the quote so I asked for my keys. They were reluctant to give them to me but it was Florida, so I got them back and went somewhere else. I wasn't the brightest 19 year old.

Edit: someone ended up hitting and running that car and when insurance looked, they said it was in a accident before which is why it ate tires. Those were the days before car fax.

I either moved away and passed them onto friends or siblings. The avenger lasted me the longest. It got hit at just the right time because it didnt have much life left. I ran the **** out of that car by driving nonstop between here amd Miami multiple times a year.

The neon I bought after that was probably the best deal I got on a car. I got it out in Oxford for $1100 with 48k miles and it was only 3-4 years old. It apparently is still being driven by the kid I sold it to.

Any of you fools want to run SM at the Dover Tour three weekends from now? We need a fifth car to fill the class. PM me if interested.

You need to be there Sat and Sun at a minimum. You can check in and tech on Friday, or just come early on Sat to tech and walk.
