aggravated i cant figure out what silly driver error i made. it was not a progressive slide, it just went and fast enough i couldnt keep it running.

concerned it took a bunch of tries to restart too which was weird...

i need to learn chicanes so i can go to the glen.
Looks like there was some oil dry down there or dirt brought onto the track by someone else spinning though the island...How early in the session was that?

As for the hard restart...not uncommon after a spin...how soon did you get your foot on the clutch once the car over rotated?

55 and partly sunny...99 not sure if that was car count or driver count as some cars had as many as four drivers. Great event....our best CTD so far.

heard you've been putting some miles on the CBRD time attack car. doing some more development on it?

that was the session after the porsche fire, but i dont think that oil dry was from him...dunno how old it was. it was far enough into the session that the tires shuold have been warm enough, maybe 5 laps or so?

i had a terrible reaction time and didnt get the clutch in quickly at all found myself focused more on figuring out where other cars were and making sure i got outta the way.

heres more laps. some positives/negatives to every lap, one BIG thing i can see is im not very consistent with my marks, but i guess the good part is i can realize that and see what im doing wrong now. any progress is good progress i guess.

ive noticed i have a very big tendency to turn in late...and im not sure why

Weather was actually pretty decent. A little overcast and breezy at times which made it a bit cold, but the track had pretty of grip. As Justin said, probably the best event so far.

Small chunks approaching your limits is a good thing...keep at it. Get an instructor to ride with you too, even if one wasn't assigned to you. Ask one of your pro buddies to jump in. Pays dividends.

Looked like your spin initiated exactly where that patch was...

That is why it was slow to restart...

Nate, overbraking and not getting back to the gas soon enough are some of the things that stand out to me right away in watching that vid. Looks like you're waiting until you're already past the apex to get back on the throttle, that's too late. U need to pick it up right at the apex (or earlier) and drive off the corner. If your spin had hurt your confidence at all, u should have asked if one of us could have ridden with you. I would have been more than happen if I didn't have a student.

Don't take any of that the wrong way, just trying to help.

im glad you guys had a good event-

we were playing around with some fuel coolers and actually had vapor lock issues at some point because of ambient temps-

we ran our car because we finally had some time- swapped it back from AEM to stock ecu on speed density- and it runs better than it ever did- plus finally has all of our own parts on it (lmp kit etc)- with watercooled wastegate- new dual pass rad- all the stuff we use as packages but wanted to try some new revisions-

problem is- when advan sponsored us- they sent us tires back in 2007- so that doesnt help- michelin may be sending us some slicks to run in the spring-

we would like to do a 1.04 or so around lightning- on 93 octane- which should be fairly easily do-able- since we did 1.08.0's on the cold track- car is around 2800 lbs- then maybe ill crank it up on E85- it would take well over 650WHP on our dyno to match GST's impreza time-

I like lightning- thunderbolt doesnt flow well in my opinion- but its still fun-

We would love to get together with everyone some more in the spring-

thats normally our busy time though-

Dan will meet you, he hates every other bar in the area... TJ's is the only that's up to his standards.

Have a good holiday.

The constructive criticism from you guys is what's helping me get better, so not mad at all!

I figured I'd spend the day working on line, especially after the track walk and what I learned. Still got my speed fix and had a great time.

All preparation to make big advances next season.
