we were playing around with some fuel coolers and actually had vapor lock issues at some point because of ambient temps-

we ran our car because we finally had some time- swapped it back from AEM to stock ecu on speed density- and it runs better than it ever did- plus finally has all of our own parts on it (lmp kit etc)- with watercooled wastegate- new dual pass rad- all the stuff we use as packages but wanted to try some new revisions-

problem is- when advan sponsored us- they sent us tires back in 2007- so that doesnt help- michelin may be sending us some slicks to run in the spring-

we would like to do a 1.04 or so around lightning- on 93 octane- which should be fairly easily do-able- since we did 1.08.0's on the cold track- car is around 2800 lbs- then maybe ill crank it up on E85- it would take well over 650WHP on our dyno to match GST's impreza time-

I like lightning- thunderbolt doesnt flow well in my opinion- but its still fun-

We would love to get together with everyone some more in the spring-

thats normally our busy time though-

SD with stock ECU seems to work very well on track at any power level, if you're not on stock turbo. i've been running it for over 3 years and several people have switched to SD after riding in my car.

water cooled wastegate? sounds interesting. are you using ice with fuel cooler? would be nice if that can help with some of the knocks i get on very hot days, i'm still running 93 pump gas.

Lightning is a fun track for high HP cars, nice flowing track. but Thunderbolt is where proper car setup shine, aero, suspension and driver.

our next CTD event will be at the end of February, not quite spring yet, so you shouldn't be busy by then

Yeah SD is working pretty well, although it could have a nicer VE setup for better tuning- but it "works"-

the fuel cooler is simply a ducted fluid cooler from the front bumper- but we are looking at incorporating a swirl pot to reduce turbulence in the fuel flow- that will be a project for later-

wastegate takes water supply from the rad- and seems to help with ROCK solid boost control-

Lightning is fun- I like turn 1-2

Thunderbolt just doesnt flow like a proper racetrack to me- the octopus (or whatever they call it) is just a non-rewarding tire grinder- quite a few of our clients that are members there have asked the track to re-do that area for a better configuration- and I kind of agree-

having driven the SP300R at tbolt- i thought with aero it might improve the track but it didnt for me-

BUT- flying up over the hill there is fun in 5th gear LOL!

Let us know in advance for feb- we will try to make it out- if we dont have our car- maybe with something cooler!!

happy holidays everyone

My only day in the office this week, and I'll be leaving early also.

Oh...hai Peter!
