only $250 for tires that aren't even at full performance yet! OMG, amazing!
da fug. he ran endurance racing or what? 3 heat cycle and they nearly half gone, plus one is corded. i wouldn't pay more than $100 for those

yeah i know the r1r are good in wet and i plan to have a set on my bbs for the evo once i fully kill the star specs on there...but for the s i need a well rounded tire, was looking at re11 and pole positions last night, but cant decide.

BTW anyone need a set of snow tires? just found a full set of 205/60/16 michelin x ice in my parents basement. they only have one winter on them, came off my moms old altima.

Why do you need a well-rounded tire? S only see dry, and possibly some wet. All of the tires mentioned completes those task pretty well imo.

why r1r not well rounded tire for s2k? it's a light car, wont chew them tires up quick. also get square setup for track so you can rotate tires.

i'd give chu $100 for those snow tires if they were 205/55, 60s are too tall for the civic

ya'll cray. those are straight up racing slicks. Says so rite there in his CL ad.

those kinds of ads seem to be all thats on CL anymore. People selling JUNK for 5x what its really worth. I wouldn't even bother listing those "slicks" for sale, it'll cost more to dismount them than they're worth.

cuz it needs to behave on the street plus be ok for auto x/track. my rs3's were sketchy on the street in the rain. i dunno im bein picky. i only have long term experience on rs3 everything else is hearsay.

probabaly dont feel like buyin wheels to go square yet, but on stock suspension the rpf1's off the evo will fit.

You're over thinking this...

You aren't going to see a bit of difference in dry performance between the rs3, z1, z2, r1 or rivals at this stage. For what you're doing they are basically identical in terms of dry grip. The only area where you're going to be close to the limit of traction would be in the wet. If you really think you're going to be out there driving close to the limit when its raining then pick a tire that will offer the best wet grip if that makes you feel warm and fuzzy....

Keep in mind though the difference in max wet traction between all those tires is minimal, not like one has a huge advantage over another. Another thing to consider; at a DE the guys who are lapping fast in the rain aren't usually the ones with the best rain tires, they're the ones who are the most comfortable sliding the car around. If you just drive around in the rain never getting the car loose it doesn't really matter what tire you have on cause you're never going to be close to the limit of traction. Once you get used to the car being a little loose on entry/exit and finding the limit of traction (sometimes going past that limit) on every turn then you will realize it doesn't really make a difference what tire you have on all that matters is how you control the car. /commute rant

btw happy new years bishes. had more than a few of deez tonight.

Agree with over thinking it. My Z1's were phenomenal in the wet and I did plenty of wet days with them.

Also I thought RE11's were especially bad in the wet.

Another thing, I never see traffic on track in the wet but there's always a ton of traffic behind me. I feel bad for those guys.

Marc, you got it backward. Those tires are closer in performance in the dry then wet. On dry, its more about rubber compound and on wet its more about thread design and depth. But you is right that hes not at a level where he can push either tires to the limit on dry or wet.
