ATTENTION OH. AND PA. Evo owners
I'm trying to put together an event for Evo's/Sti's/S2000's during August or September of 2004. I am looking to see how many people would be interested in coming along for the ride of their lives. Back in May, I went with my brother to an S2000 club run @ State Route 26 on the boarder of Ohio and WV. It was the most fun I have had in a car for 3 hours. Embanked turns, elevation changes and decent speeds were on tap for the day. There were 19 cars that went down for the run, but I was the only Non-Honda of the bunch. I am starting to gather information on how to put this thing together from the S2000 organizer. When I went, we had to do the following before we drove "Spiritedly"
1) Sign a waiver, so we could not sue the organizer for our driving habits.
2) Photocopy our License and Proof of current insurance to give to the organizer.
3) Make reservations with the Hampton Inn in Marietta well in advance, if people want to stay the night.
*We ate at the Marietta Brew House in historic downtown, where they can accomodate a large number of diners.
Please check out a map of Ohio to firmiliarize yourself with the location. Respond to this thread if you are interested, or would like to give me some tips on how to organize this event better.
Also, give me some insight as to when you would be most likely able to attend an event like this.

I'm in PA, but I would be much more interested in a day at Beaverun or Mid-ohio (or something of the equivalent). I can't chance my license, plus I would much rather go all out and get my tires howling and brakes smoking.
same... i would be def in for that idea too... if you get this goin in aug or somethign tell me.. i have a friend with an sti a wrx with around 300 whp.. and an evo friend here.. so just let me know man
My advice: Keep the high speed driving on the track. A $250 two-day track weekend is much cheaper than speeding tickets, jail time or killing yourself or someone else.
BeaveRun is a cool little track. I just got back running with the Audi club on Friday and Saturday. It's easy to learn in a few laps and you can get some decent speed down the front straight. The Evo totally dominated my run group. Since it was my second track event I ran in the novice group. I passed every car in my run group and then began lapping some guys. What a blast!
I killed my brakes badly though. I burned through a set of Carbotech Bobcats that I had on the front and killed my stock rear pads. I managed to run one rear pad down to the backing plate. Fortunately I was able to have the rear rotors turned down. I've got Stasis two piece rotors coming for the front. can wait to get out on the track again!

I know most of the people that were on the Rt 26 drive that evolvedmb mentioned. It's a good group. I would have been there were it not for a schedule conflict.
WestSideBilly is correct on the speeds, I didn't go over 70 mph the whole time. There are so many turns to encounter that your car cannot build up enough speed to really be dangerous. I am not advertising this event as street racing or lets see who is the fastest, so please don't get that impression. This is intended for everyone to have fun and get to see the capabilities of your car in a remote area of Ohio. SR 26 does not have a lot of traffic on it, and cars will not be able to reach speeds of over 60-70 mph. I hope some of you guys are interested in going. I agree about going fast in your car should be done on the track, but some of us do not want to spend the money for track time.

I have started to talk with some guys around the Cleveland area, an have gotten a decent response. So far some members from Lersoc.com and Empire Audio/Next Generation have shown some interest. The driving is scheduled to take place in Aug. or Sept. 2004 SR 26 should take people from the Cleveland area about 2-2 1/2 hours to get there.
