Coral,

It sounds as though you would really enjoy and benefit from a performance driving class that one of the many local car clubs (Team Continental, BMW, Porsche, Lotus, etc.) put on. Trust me you will have tons of fun, learn a lot, and be at the track where you can really push the envelope safely to boot. Don’t be shy about the car situation, I have seen people show up in things like Kia’s or an early 90’s Ford Taurus. Heck, one time I was out, these two crazy guys from New Zealand blew the engine in an older Firebird, so they just started ripping around the track in their Crown Victoria rental car… now that was a sight.

Ryan just posted some links to info on the Porsche Club class happening next week:

Cheers,

You're right. I would LOVE performance driving classes!
But I also love my low paying job. I love it so much it's worth getting paid garbage for it. My job feels so good it makes my quality of life so high that it's worth living like a poor person to have it, to me. So paying for such classes has never been an option of mine.

However, today the company owner gave me an offer I can't refuse. I've been pressing him to let me TSD and rally cross comany vehicles. He wants to let me but that just wont work with the companies insurance plans. So his new idea is go half and half in on the cost of a rally beater. And then develope the Mercury PDX Performance Driving Team. (Mercury PDX is my company). I will own the car and insure it myself but it will have company logos on it.

I'm so excited! I am the primary driver for the birth of a performance driving team. I can't help but think it will grow. Maybe enough that he will pay for me to attend driving schools so I can represent us better.

Have you, or any of you for that matter, ever done a TSD? I haven't but I'm eager and I'm looking for advice, tips, whatever you have to offer. I grew just plain sick of getting my driving adreneline rush from illegal activities a long time ago. There are better, safer ways. And I want to be part of them.
