i really like having that many cars involved, if we had thought about it, we shouldve let the drivers figure out how fast they wanted to go, and then drive with others in their talent/capabilities group. we really dont push the speeding thing, and we (dave, and tyler, and myself- who have arranged them thus far) are like sentinal said, looking for a good time. with this many cars though, everyone is expecting different things. some want to fly, others want to drive, and some want to cruise. if we could break up the groups, putting flyers first and so on, everyone would still be having a blast. we couldve/shouldve dont that last time, but just didnt really think about it. we wil try it next time. the last thing we want is to push drivers, or cars, or make people think that they shouldnt come cause the pace may be too quick. just a few ideas. my evo tires, brakes, clutch, etc, wont take many more flying trips, and i dont really want to be messing with brakes, and clutches at least until spring.

The whole break, clutch, and tire thing holds true for me as well. Being a college student, I really don’t have the money to be throwing in to my car for a new set of tires or a clutch... so I don’t think the flying stuff will be on my list next time... And again, we are out to have a good time, not to race each other. I agree with breaking people down in to flyers, fast past clips, out for a drive, and the Sunday drivers will help... But we are all here to have fun either way, so let’s keep it that way.

Drive hard, Drive safe, and LOVE IT...

So i checked out some of my video footage and it turned out nice - that is until i got to about the 48 minute mark on the tape. The tape stops playing and i hear a CRUNCH CRUNCH (i'm playing the digital tape from within the vtr portion of the camera). I open the tape holder .. and tape is coming out of both sides, it snapped the tape and ruined part of it.

So I grabbed some scotch tape, some scissors and a small screwdriver and did surgery on the tape. I was able to fix it, only lost about 5 seconds of footage. All in all, I should have about 70 minutes of footy.

I'll be posting some up soon, just gotta find the dv->firewire cable which is the house somewhere and i'll be posting vids.

If you look close, all of the black OZs (myself, adam and ali) appear to be flipping the bird to the camera. I know I was... not sure about the others.

Silly black lancer tomfoolery!

That was one hell of a run! I sure had a good time and met some really cool peeps in the process! The craziest part for me was trying to catch the lead group of Evo's after being stuck behind the non-turbo's for a bit =) Once I got in front I drove for a good 15min without seeing anyone and no radio contact either. Gave myself a pretty good scare hitting a dip in the road that sent me flying up into my sunroof. After about 15 min's I caught up with Ryan (Silver Evo) and continued on my way trying to catch the lead Evo group. I was driving the White Evo btw. Had a really fun turn through the 20mph corner close to the lake and did AW drift around it. Nicely controlled and a lot of fun. By the end of the run I never did catch the lead Evo group but I made up a lot of time as they only beat me there by a few minutes.

Cant wait to do this again as I had a really good time! Next time Ill mount the camera in the car and point it back to get some good video of other peeps driving =)

Well, not first hand, but I remember reading about a certain person who decided to video tape his top speed run in his Ferrari F50 in England, and put that video on the internet. He got in big trouble. Not saying this would definitely happen to anyone posting their videos, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. I'm basically just ultra-careful because I know how much cops hate that sort of activity. This forum has international exposure, so I would imagine those videos would probably make it all over the world eventually.

EDIT: Also, not to be a worry wart or anything, but I think posts that talk about things like street racing & high speed runs on public roads are frowned upon in the forum.
