Northwest Evolutions Yahoo Group

Hello everyone. I have created a yahoo group for the Northwest Evolution car club. Please join the group if you are interested in becoming a member of the car club. We can use this group as a place to get information on upcoming events until our official website goes online. It is also an excellent place get to know each other on the message boards, and to upload pictures of yourself and car.

I hope to you see all there!

Michael

It seems like most of the members live around the Seattle Tacoma area. I'd join but the meets are just too far away for me. I'd maybe only be able to make one meet a year or something.

All memebers should head over to the yahoo group to vote for Presedent and VP.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi there, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jason from Kirkland, WA. Had an Evo since March 03. I think I had one of the first Evos sold in the state of WA. I'm not into the hardcore "team" or "car club" scene, but I do my share of hanging out with various car groups and racing down in PR.
I took the Proformance driving school and occasionally drag in test-n-tune nights. I've been using the Vishnu upgrade path and tune over at FAME Automotive in Redmond, right across the street from my office.
Let me know if you guys are getting together for some meet and I'll come out and say hi to everyone.

Hey Jason, I'm in nearly the same position. I've been modding the car like crazy since I got it back in August and have been doing tons of track days. I also went with the Vishnu tuning, and will probably get my car tuned with the big turbo and cams in the near future at FAME. I live in Seattle but frequently visit the eastside to hang out with all my car buddies. Maybe we can do an informal meet sometime in the near future? I've met only a few people off the boards so far.

Yeah, there are 2 other Evos in my neighborhood and we all hang out occasionally. Let me know when you'll be around.
When's the new turbo going in ? I'll run across the street to meet you when you get them installed.

Whatever happened to people just meeting up to chat about cars over a burger or beer? The last meet I drove out to, I arrived at the time posted and found a lot of evo's parked, but no owners around. I guess that would mean that I'm a 0 and in-eligible for the club.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the club and would definitely like to meet up with other evo owners...but using a formula to determine whether or not I can be a part of the club seems a bit overboad. Anyone else feel this way?

Not sure if you are a member? Take this simple quiz to help determine your eligibility!

1) I own a Mitsubishi Evolution. (1 point)

2) I have attended at least one NWevo gathering and met with existing members. (1 point)

Now add your point total and divide by two. The result of this division is “your number”.

Next draw a number line plotting the digits 0 and 1. Label 0 as “not member” and 1 as “member”.

Now plot “your number” on the number line you created in the last step.

Is “you number” to the left or right of the digit 1? If so, you are not a member.

If you have been removed from the group by accident, please email me at fish1479@yahoo.com

If you are interested in becoming a member, feel free to check our calendar from time to time for upcoming events. We are also active in the forums here at evolutionm.net

Thanks for everyone’s cooperation.

^ agreed. maybe we would be interested but not so much in taking days off of work to make it to the meets. maybe we would like to hang out but not be so much involved in a club that seems to have no one in charge. maybe we live 250 miles away. just a thought. definately not flaming, and i admire what you guys are doing.

Well, just the fact that no one from that group bothered to respond nor even cared to say hello back seems to indicate that we're not really welcomed here, doesn't it. Too bad, because there is a group of Evo people out here that are into hanging out, occasionally hitting the track and grabbing a bite somewhere. Send me a PM if you feel this way and I'll update you back on anything going on..

Don’t get your panties in a bunch. If you couldn’t tell from the math formula alone, it was a joke,... for the most part. The problem was vendors joining the group and posting advertisements or spam. We are just weeding them out. My intention is not to discourage people from becoming involved with the group. We are not some elitist/exclusive club. The only problem lies in the fact that we are new; and, we are in the midst of creating rules, regulations and elected officers.

Should people who are not dedicated to being a part of the group have a say in if we are to pay club dues? Should people who have never met existing members be aloud to vote for officers? I’m sure you can see our dilemma.

Personally, I joined this group because I enjoy meeting new people. I believe a large portion of us are here for the same reason. So like I said before, the last thing I want to do is discourage new people from becoming involved. Let’s kiss and make up shall we? A bunch of us are meeting at Cowboys Inc Friday night around 8:30. We are celebrating Dave’s 21st and mourning the loss of Cory (he’s not dead, just leaving) Bring a present for Dave and Cory, and Joanna will make-out with you!

wow, i really pissed some people off. all this because some company that sells WRX parts in california voted for pres

edit: okay i now see why you are pissed. it looks as if my math formula post was in responce to your previous posts. That is not the case. My post was inresponce to something that happened in on the group page. Sorry for the confusion.

i promise you, we are all very nice people (except for ryan, hes a badass who shoots midgets for fun)
