New Potential Evo Owner

Hi guys,
My name is Syd and I am in Seattle. I am SERIOUSLY pondering buying an EVO, and I was wondering if I could attend one of your next get togethers/cruises so I could see your cars, get some advice, see mod, discuss problems and issues...maybe even ride along? Dealers so far have been pretty hardcore about test drives, which is how I ended up without an EVO the first time (I drive an RX-8). Would you guys be willing to accomodate? I think the EVO is king but I just need that final push.

thanks,
Syd

hmmm, not sure how early of a riser you are but there is going to be a drive this coming weekend and a bunch of nw evo guys are rallying in your area... southcenter... i think its early morning saturday but check out the DSM Hoodriver run thread for exact details...

edit:

okay i just pulled the info out of the thread for you...

April 30th, Saturday...

North of Seattle: Meet at Bahama Breeze (Old Southcenter Mall
Theater) before 6:00AM with or without me. You should leave there no
later than 6:10AM to be able to make it to the next meeting point.

Tacoma/Puyallup area: Meet at the I-5/512 McDs around 6:45AM. You
can fuel up the car at the Chevron and fuel up yourself at the same
time. We will be leaving there promptly at 7:00AM.

Im sure there will be people at both meet points willing to talk to you about the car and whatnot. If you wanted to make the drive to tacoma and be there a little early i would be happy to give you a quick ride in my (mostly stock) evo. there should be some pretty knowlageble people there that can give you some straight info on the car as well... (im not one of them)

I'd be more than happy to give you test ride in mine...though it's modded so it will be a different type of car than stock. PM me if you are interested and we can meet anytime in the evening most nights.

Yeah Kyle. You need to man up and install that bad boy .

BTW, I can give you some advice on setting up the boost control system to work w/ your XEDE when the time comes.

Awesome, thanks! Nice meeting you guys btw. My plan so far is to now pull the head, port it, replace the valves and valve seals (not sure on exactly what yet), then install the revolver cams with the springs and retainers. I'll also do the headstuds at the same time. Possibly contemplating knife edging the crank, but not too sure right now. Then bolt on all the new goodies. The ATP kit is designed to work with the stock exh manifold, but I'm looking around at replacing it, and potentially a new intake manifold as well. I'll probably get all new IC plumbing from PINA (just checked out SlowEVO8's car and the work looks really nice). Once that is all done time for tuning.
