got a reply from Speedware.

"the customer retrieved the car and drove it for several weeks before anything occurred & Speedware was notified"

seriously?

Speedware's reply in full:

"Speedware Motorsports is aware of the postings being made regarding Nicole's Mitsubishi. The car has had extensive aftermarket, high-performance parts added which Speedware had absolutely no involvement in. This work, and several subsequent dyno sessions were all performed prior to their visit to Speedware. After the oil change, transmission flush & alignment, the customer retrieved the car and drove it for several weeks before anything occurred & Speedware notified.
1) Pistons break in turbo motors instantaneously, not over time. Hence, there is no way the damage occurred at Speedware;
2) Carbon in dings in the head corroborate and substantiate Speedware's opinion of previous damage and hard use, along with other significant physical evidence;
3) The statements of mileage and boost came from the Owner, not Speedware;
4) The offer from Speedware was not an admission but an attempt to appease a customer wrongly accusing Speedware of something that is not its responsibility. It was an attempt at customer relations and nothing more."

What a bunch of crap. Michael my husband called Eric as soon as we got the car home and told him that there is something wrong. Eric was gone for the 4th of jly weekend. The car broke after less than 100 miles put on it. What our mechanic said is that the sleeve? I am not to good with car tech terms., was knocking and finally broke loose from the detonation. They reset our computer and our trip odometer had 17.3 miles on it when we picked it up. Eric was not in when michael picked up the car.

This car has never been trackedor driven hard. it had only 18k miles on it plus the original clutch. This is just their attempt at trying to retain the customers they have.

Here is my response:

1)Michael my husband called Eric as soon as we got the car home and left him a voice mail that there is something wrong.

2)Eric was gone for the 4th of july weekend. The car broke after less than 100 miles put on it. 2 different mechanics and one engine builder said is that the sleeve? I am not to good with car tech terms., was knocking and finally broke loose from the detonation.

3)They reset our computer and our trip odometer had 17.3 miles on it when we picked it up. Eric was not in when michael picked up the car.

4) I noticed that Speedware is not denying that they fired their employee for taking our car out.

5) The mark on the head was from the factory. We ave never pulled it of or touched any of the internals. The modification on this car are, Greddy intercooler, HKS turbo back exhaust; HKS cams; Apexi II, Greddy turbo timer. This car was dyno'ed by FAME, A well respected AWD dyno.

5)This car has never been tracked or driven hard. It had only 18k miles on it plus the original clutch. For those of you who do not know about the EVO Clutch, is that it wears easily. On evolutionm.net most people were changing the clutch after 10k miles.

6)This is just their attempt at trying to retain the customers they already have.

7) What it comes down to is that you guy took my car which the OWNER SHAUN admited that BRET took the car and you fired him for it. I do not know how he drove my car. What I do know is that HE DETONATED IT. He ruined my car.

I want everyone to know that Speedware does not take responsibility for their actions. All I wanted was $3000 for the crank, I would pay what was left after the 3k was used, I would pay for a new head and they would preform the labor. So that was it $3000k plus labor. They only reason I made that offer becuase I wanted to continue to do business with your shop. I understand that employees can go awry, but you are ultimately reponsible for those employees.

I got the run around from speedware for 3 months, I get them stalling(calling the mechanics I had look at the car to make sure the head has not been removed before etc). I get that eric has to still talk with Shaun blah blah blah. I am in tears that you ruined my car and have the ***** to sit back on your heels and try to tell me that I did it. What a joke.

I want everyone to know what you did and how you did not resovle it.

Sorry to hear that Nicole. You guys just have bad luck with shops lately. First it was Stage, now Speedware. No wonder I havent seen the Evo driving around 124th lately.
Who tuned your car ? A properly tuned car should not detonate, even when you drive it hard.

FAME tuned it. how are you guys? So did you have the baby? Where are you guys registered at? Atleast stage didn't mess up anything internally with the car, i still recommend them to people. they have good prices. They jsut dropped a tool on the car and they tried to cover up the scrape. Oh well.

The jack off at speedware maxed the low boost out. make sure you give michael a call. We will be home tonight, car is there too. you should stop by.

Yep, pretty neat huh? We got the car back from them on June 30th and it broke down on the second.

But you know I was driving it for weeks after the 2nd, try pushing that car up hill, it gets you into shape quick. I also cut out two holes in the floor board to put my feet through, I figured the flintstones did it why can't i?

since I don't have the S.M.A.R.T system on my car, thought it would be appropriate.
