H&R Springs

Just FYI - I have never felt my suspension actually bottom out and hit the bump stops, and I do know what that feels like.
I say if people want to throw on some springs let them. From my perspective the car looks better and more importantly as far as I can tell performs as good if not better. At least that has been my experience. Moreover, it seems to be the experience of most of the people who have put on some aftermarket springs from what I can tell. Besides, my guess is that the majority of Evo owners who put springs on their cars want the improved look & performance... but don't track their cars, so they really won't know. I think Chris and I are the exceptions to the rule for most evo owners because we actually track our cars often... do you? Seems like you are kind of a hater. Just let people do what they want. If you think it's stupid, don't do it. Your opinion has been registered... now let it go.

I just have that been there/done that attitude, but like you say, people can do as they like.
All I can say is that my experience is I put some cheap springs on hearing from many that they didn't hurt performance... and my experience thus far has been that they have not. Or if they have it is not something discernable. In fact, in my opinion they appear to have helped at the track from what I can tell but I think that would be impossible to prove with all the other variables involved (tire wear, track conditions, driver skill improvements, track familiarity, etc.). The bottom line is that they didn’t tank the performance of my car at the track and aren’t that horrible to live with on the street either. IF they had negatively affected the performance of my car you can bet they would have come right off. If they do lead to premature wear on the struts… which I have not noticed at all yet… well all the more reason to upgrade to full coil-over system.
Honestly, who cares... these cars perform awesome and are certainly more car that most drivers have the ability to fully utilize anyway. Particularly on the street… which sadly is where most are driven. I mean how fast do you need to take a corner on a public road? Obviously these cheap springs that several reputable manufacturers are putting out aren't destroying performance to a degree that kills sales.
