I'm still learning how to drive the Evo, but the improved suspension definitly increased my confidence. Right now I'm still waiting on getting a bunch of speed bleeders for the brakes, which are on backorder - otherwise I could have put them on this weekend.
Dang you were out in my neck of the woods, very nice driving out there on some of the very rural roads. Setup looks very nice, and you can't beat Stoptech for what you pay.

all right - I had a produtive weekend! The brakes are on, the new wheels are on, the car fragging *turns* (I went out east again to bed in the brakes). I'm heading to the track: Pacific Raceway (Proformance lapping day), next week Tue or Wed all day. Something wicked this way comes .

Good to hear Do you by chance remember what your front camber is at and did you just have the factory bolts?

Factory bolts only, arrows pointing out from the car, and put some tension on the hub when you tighten the bolts.

Front: -2.1 camber, zero toe
Rear: -1.5 camber, toe out

Poor man's laser alignment:
- laser level from ebay 3x $10
- pergo board w/ some motor oil from home depot $25
- zip ties & tape measure $20

That's cool I've never done the laser method, just string on jackstands. It seems to work ok.
If you ever want to borrow it I have a smartcamber gauge with the hands free adaptor.

The more the merrier, and pics and/or video would be awesome . It's supposed to be sunny (but cold) all day. I'll bring some garden furniture and maybe my RC Evo for entertainment! I'll be there all day, starting around 8am until 5pm. The track is open to any spectators who want to hang out - directions are here: http://www.proformanceraceschool.com/track.html

Matt, you should get out here - there's an Ariel Atom here, sick sick car! Weather sucks, but racing is fun .

Well, altogether it was a good day - the suspension was flawless, the brakes were good, the engine still needs some work. As far as handling goes I was very happy - this car can dance now . The brakes did well in terms of stopping power and modulation, but after 30 min of good thrashing I did get some slight fade. I never pushed the Brembos this hard, so it's difficult to compare the two, but I'm hoping that some additional air flow will fix it.

The engine was giving me headaches - it was cold out (~45 F), and I kept seeing boost spikes (up to 26 psi), and getting boost cut as a result - even got an SES with "overboost condition" code. I'm going to have to study the data some more to figure that one out. Lastly, I lost a ****ing exhaust clamp at the end of the day - sounded bad *** (my downpipe was basically VTA at that point), but my mid pipe was only hanging on the O2 sensor cable, so I had to call it a day.

Weather was lousy, not many photo ops, but here's a shot from the paddock area and an in car vid for a lap.
