Spotted two grey 8s this morning around 8am headed past the weigh station on the glenn going into anchorage. One had windows tinted and one didnt.

oh that was the cleanest evo i seen in alaska, had like 1 rock chip. a old guy use to own it. and dont worry he will, hes a evo enthusiast and a mechanic so its in good hands

been almost two weeks still waiting on my transfer case from shepppp. cant wait!!

Soooo Ecuflash no longer reads my ecu, car still runs on the tune thats on it and logs fine in evoscan but I can't read or flash. Anyone interested in meeting up for a beer and perhaps bringing a 1.3u or m cable so I can see if its my cable that's busted?

Where do you log at around or close to Anchorage?I most of the time drive to wasilla or willow if im going out there for the weekend where the roads are straight and no cops. I use to run out the off ramp from muldoon towards ER but cops are out everywhere around there now.

I run C st. between dimond and whatever that road is by target. I can do 3rd gear runs np. As long as your not doing it in the middle of the night or during rush hour the traffic is so light and I rarely see cops. I usually head south and when I'm done turn off into the tree dump lot area, look at the log/make changes then go back the other way and U-turn to do it again. That way I'm always on the same piece of road.

I'm pretty much done with my idle and cruise tune. Idles at 15.8afrs and cruise is over 16. My mileage is actually killer if I can keep my foot out of it.

I'm also done with my power tune for the most part until I get some more parts. With my current turbo (stock IX) and cams (stock) I don't think I can get anymore max power. I could get more midrange torque by peaking higher but I'm trying to go easy on my drivetrain.

Gotta install all these parts I've already bought and just havent put on the car. 5spd swap starts monday morning.


EDIT:: Also got screwed by mitsubishi this morning. Took the evo into the dealer because I have a leak in the trunk where the lid comes down near the rear glass. The weather stripping isn't sealing the lid completely, but neither lid or stripping is damaged. I tried to get it covered under warranty but it turns out my warranty expired 20 days ago. Thought I had another month left o'well. I'm sure mitsu looked at the warranty history of the car and decided they had already paid for over $7k worth of work and that was enough. Lol.

Sucks because I've got my meth injection gear in the trunk and am planning on relocating the battery to the trunk as well. Which would make my small leak a serious problem. Just spent about 20 min in the driveway masterfully installing gorilla tape to the bottom of the trunk lid.... garden hose test shows it is no longer leaking. I'll do a car wash later tonight perhaps.

Also had the dealer clear my A/C system so I can rip it out in a week or so.

You should take it out to the track in may when they do the kool cruise. Have you used any logs in VD yet to get a rough estimate of what the hp and tq look like? And we should also get a meet up sometime this spring. Last year we did one and it turned out pretty well.

sounds good about the meet up. Here are some of my more recent power runs from late last year. This is where I basically stopped tuning. I was happy and couldn't hold any more boost or timing up top so I figured it was about as far as I was going to get.

With basic bolts on and stock turbo/cams 400+hp is pretty damn good. I will get my car back this weekend and do some logs. Powerband looks really good too. I miss stock turbo.

Its a blast to drive. This year I'm just going to install the parts I already have and maybe do some weight savings mods but no power mods this year I don't think. Next year maybe upgraded turbo and cams.

I gutted the truck and then i take out the back seats when i race but thats it. I doubt i have even dropped 100lbs lol.

My weight was 3265 (not including me) the claimed weight of the car is 3283. Not sure how much fuel that involves or other liquids. I had half a tank if I recall when I got weighed. So really I haven't done any weight reduction mods yet. At least except for doing the exhaust, but I lost some of that improvement when I installed all the methanol injection parts. I race with my back seat in. It weighs almost nothing, you'll get more from just taking the donut and jack out. (Which I had btw when I got weighed.)

The things I want to do this summer are the ac, emission gear like charcoal canister and maybe some other odds and ends out of the engine compartment. I'm trying to keep the interior as stock as possible or at least all there. I don't want to drive a race car I just want a street car that can race.
