should I turbo my grocery getter?

I've really been thinking about getting a stage 2 turbo for my lancer. I just got it at mountain mitsubishi like 2 months ago and have a 4 year loan on it, I really don't think I could take 4 years of driving a car this slow!

Do you guys think I should turbo it? or use the money for a turbo to help pay my loan off faster so I can trade it in? I have a couple accidents and a few tickets so I couldn't insure an evo for 3 years ( assuming I don't get any tickets or accidents in those 3 years ) my insurance with the lancer is something like 550 a month now, the quote on an evo was pretty close to 1000/m with gieco...

so yeah..

turbo it and enjoy driving it for the next few years?

or pay it off and ditch it for something else?

550 a month????? Holy hell. Wait, didnt you hit a curb a few weeks back and break your axle and bent up your rim. I did the exact same thing and i think i remembered posting on your thread. Anyways, i would suggest selling the lancer and getting something very cheap and only getting liability on it if your insurance for a base lancer is 550 a month. While turboing may be fun, if your getting into accidents with the current 120 horsepower, do you want 230 or 240? I guess if you want the turbo, nothing is stopping you, but where you are getting that kind of money for loan payment a massive insurance payment is beyond me.

Or you can take some defensive driving classes. They'll both help out on insurance cost and teach you how to drive. I think after a couple tickets and accidents, the last thing you need is a turbo.

I was adopted and then one of my gaurdians died when I was 19, so I have a little cushion to help when I need some money, right now I don't have to use it at all because I make enough for my rent/car payment/insurance/school/other expenses

my last accident almost exactly a year ago, i took a court ordered class and have been driving fine since then. i got a 300zx for my 17th birthday and made a lot of bad choices when driving it. i totaled it after a few months and then for a pathfinder, got bored with that and got a sebring, totaled it and then had to take a defensive driving class.

anyways, i've grown up a lot since then and i'm a much more responsable driver, i'm just really bored with my 120hp economy sedan

Looks like its better for you to keep it slow, cause with faster car, it much easier to get it totaled, just a thought

I cannot even imagine paying 550/month for insurance on a lancer. I don't even pay that a year for my evo.

dude...sell the car, get a beater and carry barebones liability for 3 years. save the cash for a nice downpayment on a new car. all you are doing is lining the coffers of the insurance company. no mitsu, even an evo is worth over 6k a year in just insurance, especially a lancer. you are paying for the car's entire worth in 2 years.......

i'm only 20, i havn't had any baddies on my record since february, but before that i had a lot of stuff.. i was a really bad driver and although i hate to admit it now i was totally ZOMG NEEDS NAWZZZ MAN 2 fast 2 furious LETS GO 120 IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS MAN

i was a really wreckless driver, but have since changed ( court ordered driving school & knowing i loose my license if i get another point really helps straighten a person out )

until a few years pass ( 3 i think ) all that stuff is on my driving record, so i'm high risk insurnace.

well i say save your money and stay NA, and get some basic bolt-ons (if you haven't already). If you turbo you will not be able to run "cheap" gas, spend money on supporting mods and you won't have enough to pay your insurance.
