tbe install question

who has installed there own TBE?

was this a easy process for you?, i always do my own work, but i used to do it on a lift and all the proper tools. since ive moved away from my former shop all i have with me are standard socket tools and the stock jack.

just seeing some opinions before i tackle this

i installed my TBE by myself took me like 6 hours was a pain in the *** jacking up the car and putting it on jackstands, but it can be done. Whoever says it is a peice of cake is fullOit, hehe but yeah get a creeper jackstands 6" extensions for bolts at downpipe-turbo and you should b fine.

It's always nice to have a helper to hold the exhaust up while you start bolts, but even by youself it's not bad at all. I swear the hardest part is not cursing the engineering that decided to put 90 of those stupid plastic screws in the undertray

TBE is quite simple. The O2 housing can be a bit of an ar$e if you're doing that also. I don't know what you're planning on, but some Japanese exhausts like Fujitsubo are one piece from cat back which can make it a little fiddly installing on your own. In any case, it's not difficult enough to pay someone to do it. Good luck.

awesome! i figured it would be pretty simple, the one i plan to get is the HPF 3.5" turbo back (overkill) but its all in my plans so i dont have to buy 2 exhaust systems.

im just waiting to order the TBE feb as my first mod, i need to line some mods before i get the IX tuned, my long process of voiding the warrenty

Took almost an hour for me to do, that's including the time to jack it all up. Wish I had a lift, it would have been a whole lot easier and less time.

They all perform roughly the same. What you pay for in an exhaust is fitment, quality, customer service, and price.

yea, i havent heard any bad fitting, and both seem to have great customer service, in the long run i know if i do choose to do the stroker+gt35r the 3.5" will have a signigficant advantage, or so it seems.
