Local paint shop in Seattle?

I'm sick to my stomach because I just gave Katrina a scratch. I left her running and she slipped out of my parking spot (e-brake must not have been on hard enough). Driver's side door has a healthy sized scrape that is several inches high and a few inches wide.

Anyone know of a good paint shop in this area? There is no dent (thankfully) but how hard is it to match the color to the original?

Ouch! Sorry to hear Brad (me goes and checks his E Brake too...). I remember once at the tyre shop when they were switching out my rims they didn't have the brake on...when they let it down off the lift car rolled forward...luckily they had another ramp and it wasn't able to get way.

Jeez I'm just so bummed out about it.....

Hey Chris, I know you know a lot about paint. Do you know if a good painter can get the color matched right? How can I tell if its a good painter, other than by going by recommendations?

If you want cheap & good quality, try Kansai Motorsports in Seattle (import shop, ask for Kevin)

If you want excellent quality, try Emerald City Auto Rebuild in Redmond (Supercar shop, does other business too, very high tech, cash only)

If you want personal attention (e.g. someone you know to keep an eye on your baby), take it hanahawaiian .

Have you taken your car to Kansai before or do you know anyone who has?

Also, I'm having trouble finding Emeral City Auto Rebuild online. Do you have their phone number?

Thanks Ralph!

My friend Dru knows a pretty good painter. I haven't used him yet but he uses the paint brand with the parrot on it? I'll see if I can get a phone number later.

Kansai did all the body work on my previous car (including some custom stuff), and I was very happy with it. The shop looks a little crazy, but they know what they are doing.

The other place is actually "Queen City Auto Rebuild", (sorry about that). They do work on Lambos, Ferrari's, etc.. I had my Evo in there once to fix my rear bumper, and the shop is amazing (very high tech).

which one of the guys is it? I used to hang out there quite a bit when I had my Celica, but kind of faded since I got the Evo. We did two track events together that Kansai organized (at PR) which was loads fun - nothing but imports being crazy ****'s on an open race track .

I just went into Kansai and met Kevin Leung. Really nice guy, and he was able to give me a pretty good deal so I think I'm going to go with them.

He just had a much higher attention to detail on the estimate inspection than the other two guys I tried, and he was really friendly (they usually don't do estimates on Saturday, but he told me to bring it over).

Anyway, I'll let you guys know how it turned out. I just got UK Badge in, so I'm going to go install it now....
