better buy sooner than later, otherwise you might have to settle for a used one

Beaverton has a great service staff but a crappy sales staff. They tried to sell me my MR for more than MSRP even after I told them I wans't paying any adjusted markup. I ended up buying at Renton Mitsubishi, and got a WAY better deal than Beaverton was willing to offer. They have a few SE's also now.

personally i had a very bad exp @ renton. back then when i was looking for an evo, the salesman looked at me like a kid with no money. i had to walk up to a counter to ask for a salesman and the first thing he said to me was "the evo right? its pretty expensive, around 34k, and no discounts. do you understand?" pissed me off big time

i totally agree with this. i was in the same boat too. 22 and they just saw me as some kid who didnt have money. then they tried to sell me a used 03 and wouldnt even let me test drive it. he drove it with me in the car and proceeded to tear the **** out of the car "showing me what the car can do" then got mad and said i wasted his time even asking about an evo.

call them https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=209324, maybe they will pay for your plane ticket.

of just pick a few in the phone book. then call ask for new car sales manager...dont speak to a anyone else. tell him dealers are a dime a dozen and your buying below or at invoice, period. if he wants to move a car he will take the offer. then buy your evo.

does steve still own mountain?

but yer all drug sellin kids fresh out of high school with rich parents.... why would they be suprised? J/k =P Personally I'd prolly act the same way if a kid came in wanting to buy an evo, "You sure you can... afford this?" I know a kid was in mountain the other day.. wanting to buy a used STI.. he got turned down and they showed him around the lot at lancer ralliarts and such =P He swore he'd come back with his big airforce enlistment bonus.
Evo is definately not a beginers car nor for those whos first time on a manual transmission. I know the VIII's were terrible about their clutches burnin out.

I dislike them also. I wanted to purchase their 05 Yellow EVO8, test drive, no way, be cool & even talk to me about it, no way! The sales guy said, "you either want this car or don't, so test drives are not needed" I asked what if I don't like it? No real answer from the sales guy.

I'm over 30yo, drove on the lot in a BMW 5 series, and told him it was a cash deal.

They could not be bothered to help me in any way, and really talked down to me, and made be really feel bad about how they treated me.

So what did I do? Went to Mountain, paid under sticker, and had they get the car from Walker! I drove my Sales man personal car up there, while he drove the minivan trade car (dealer trade for the EVO). I drove the Yellow 05 EVO off the lot!

It felt so good you don't even know! I wanted to go back later & find the stupid sales guy who missed out on the sale.

I would NEVER, NEVER give Walker any of my money!

I bought my car (05 VIII) from Renton back in October 2004 with my 1st pay check. That "no test drive" thing really pissed me off! Luckily I had already driven a USDM VIII when I was down in Florida (one of the guys that went to school with me had bought a BBY '03)...cause the last Evo I had driven before that was at home (JDM VI GSR) and its night and day between the two cars (RHD vs LHD aside).

I got 2k knocked off the car and I know I could of done better but I had only been in WA for 3 weeks and I just looked for the closest Mitsubishi dealer with Evos and they came up. They weren't rude to me...but I suppose they incorrectly assumed (as most people do) that because of where I work I actually have $$ .

I remember when the woman that washes the car took it across the road to fill it up with gas (which I swear was the longest 5 minutes of my life) and shes coming back and as she leaves the gas station she revs it up and then dumps the clutch...and I am like .

Edit I was 22 at the time.

well i went to karmart in burlington and had no problems what so ever. walked in. told them what i wanted. told them i wasnt sure if i liked the way evos drove so the sales manager let me drive his 05 viii. needless to say i paid under sticker and they drove over to spokane to get what i wanted. i think alot of dealerships need to get a new look on life. im 22 and im an e5 in the navy. i make more then enough money to pay for an evo and there are alot of 22 yo people in the states that make way way way more money then i do! ohwell rentons loss.
