Its not to bad. Its for a good cause haha. So we were putting my buddies MR back together last night (headstud, cams etc install) We start the car and what do you know oil is leaking from the bottom of the lower timing belt cover and not only that but the damn timing belt is soaked in oil its like holy crap wtf is going on. Well it turns out that the damn tensioner bolts arent tightened properly. So oil is leaking out of them SUCKSSS. we had issues with the timing belt getting its proper tension for the past day and a half and we couldnt figure it out. Good thing is that it let us know by leaking oil. Once the tensioner was tightened the belt got so damn tight it was retarded. So it saved us from snapping the belt. We are going to fix it today. Still cant believe that the damn tensioner wasnt tightened all the way. How retarded. Live and learn. On my side just did the turbo swap went to take out the damn o2 sensor out of the o2 housing and what do you knwo the threads are stripped on the sensor into the o2 housing so yeah there is no getting that sensor out of the housing without cutting it. We tried everything all it did was round the damn bolt. oh well had to spend 300 bucks to get a new one which should be in today Car should be up- and running today. also found that my safe injection box is bad. PIsse s me off since this is the 2nd one. Good thing that I dont have to have it on to get it to work. Im going to go ahead and send the list of names to john see if there is any discrepencies. I think there is on his side.

Sucks to hear DSM. I am starting to put everything in tomorrow, and I know I am going to regret waiting to the last moment to do it. I have a FMIC, FP Turbo, IC Piping, O2 Housing, and the Zeixtronics going in. Oh yeah, new fuel injectors, but those are easy as hell.

Tips on the turbo. Dont take the radiator out. (this is for the fp green---> before you take the old turbo out. Take the hotside off of the turbo and take the WG off of the hotside. Loosen up the 2 13 mm bolts from the wg on the compressor housing but do not take them off. (old turbo) unbolt the stock turbo return line only from the stock turbo (2 10mm bolts) Leave the other side attached to the oil pan. take the 02 sensor off before you take the turbo off of the car just loosen up the lower heat shield and then take it off. then take the entire turbo out as one unit. The aftermarket o2 housing is going to need to be drilled out a little (the bolt holes) to make them fit on the new turbo kinda gay if you get it on without it ill be wondering how. Take the hotside off of the green and put the compressor housing in first (make sure that the turbo elbow the one that goes to the lower ic pipe is already attached to the compressor housing) Put your coolant lines back on the turbo and bolt the turbo oil line back up to the head. After you do that bolt the oil return line back up to the turbo then put in the hotside and o2 housing with the o2 sensor already installed. then bolt on your exhaust and walah. Its alot easier this way in my opinion. Gives you room to work. You can easily access the 2 10 mm return line bolts from the top of the car with a 1/4 in rachet. I think this is a little jumbled but im just throwing some stuff out there. Done a couple of turbo swaps in the past week and found that this works the best.

Torque freaks doors open at 9 am. Cams on a ix are not a bad install. Just gotta deal with the oil line for the mivec cam gear and you gotta deal with the mivec cam gear dripping some oil so you gotta make sure you dont get any on the belt. I know you have an 8 pdx im just throwing this out there too lol. Alright guys
peace

Well, it looks like I wont be able to get tuned. The turbo install went as planned, and everything was fine. Installed the new injectors went to dinner and came back and now there is some short in the car. Anytime I even touch the ground to the battery it arcs big time and the battery cable heats up to about 160f in about 3 seconds. Unplugged the injectors, although Im not even sure how they could be causing the issue, and the same thing happens. Spent the last 9 hours looking for shorts and found nothing. Needless to say I am very disappointed, and I am at my wits end for finding this magically appearing issue. I havent even done anything with the electrical system so I am really confused by how this happened. Hopefully JEStr will be understanding and refund my money or something.
