a little turbo gasket leak

a little turbo gasket leak
hi guys and gals,
I have an exhaust leak which must be coming from the manifold to turbo gasket.
I have a smudge on the radiator from the gases spurting through a gap in the heat shield.
So my question is, since I've done a bit of hard driving on the car with this leak will a simple gasket replacement do the trick or has a channel been eroded in one of the surfaces? This wr turbo has been in about a year. The leak about a month I guess.
Is it foollhardy to try to leave the turbo connected (underneath)and just drop it down enough to get the new gasket in? So far I've kept my hands away from the turbo so I don't have any more clue than what I can see. And right now I can't see through the heat shield so I'm flying blind ( or would that be blond).
a new gasket, new bolts, anything else I should have ready?

Check to see if one of the bolts backed out. I had one without a lock washer and it backed right out causing the same leak.
